Sounds like you have a motor problem draging and it can't get started I just replaced one same problem.

bad motor,when you hear that noise open the door,hold in the door switch with one hand and with the other spin the drum and have someone else start it while you do this,all your doing is helping the motor start to spin but it sounds like a bad motor,this could be from not cleaning out the dryer,if it's gas it should be done once a year,electric can go another 6 months because there isn't an open flame in there,if you clean out the dryer and vent line the clothes will dry on time,the parts will last longer and you won't have a dryer fire.

The problem is likely a malfunctioning centrifugal start switch in the motor.

If the buzz continues to go for awhile(2-3 minutes before you stop it you will need to replace the belt on your dryer.

If the buzz quits pretty quickly after you let go of the start button and you smell something hot or electrical, you will need to replace the motor.

It sounds like the drum may be stuck. Turn the dryer on with the door open, just keep the button pushed. Then try to turn the drum by hand, and see if it will start to turn.

most of the time when that happens it's the dryer motor getting weaker and weaker until one day it just stops and then all you will get when you push the start button is a buzzing sound,i see this all the time on kenmore"s-mike

POST MODEL NUMBER, BUT IT MAY BE THE MOTOR START SWITCH.

Go to www.repairclinic.com and enter your model number and it will show you all your parts, but I suggest you change your thermostats and basically have the dryer cleaned out of possible lint build up on the interior
