42" Panasonic plasma has no picture, but power light is flashing

its possible with that age---see photos to know what to look for:

swollen capasitors, replaceing will cost $500, so best to get another one, 42'' samsung will sell for about $800. the pn42a450

once a plasma has a problem, fixing it or not, more problems will occure, trust me, i am the flat pannel guru.

Try this to get more information that will help diagnose the extent of the problem:

get a powerfull flash light
turn the tv on in the dark and point the flashlight right at the face of the screen and look for video..

make sure you have an active input or good channel selected..

if you see video where the flash lights then your cold cathode flourescant backlight is not working and this repairable at a reasonable price

I would guess a power board failure. The blinking light is an error code.

There is an image board on sale on ebay you may want to check this out.

Ditto for Jan 13th with a Panasonic 50"!
