When this happens with a brand new unit, there are a couple of things that can be causing it:
The drain hose/garden hose you're using is to long. It should not exceed 48" in length and must slope down and straight to the floor drain.
A piece of packing material or debris is in the hose concector and inner tubing. To remove this clog, turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic
Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing.
Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will
need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either
bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip
Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs.
As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water
may follow. Reconnect the hose, plug the unit in and turn the Master
ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% . Allow the unit to run,
while you monitor the hose end for water flow. Be patient, as it may take 5 to 10 minutes to start flowing.
NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers.
I hope this helps you to troubleshot & solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.
SOURCE: Bucket fills up instead of water flowing out hose
There must be a blockage in the hose causing the water to back up and flow into the bucket. Try pushing a flexble peice of wire through the hose to unblock it.
SOURCE: Hose line is no longer draining the unit, bucket fills instead
Sounds like the connector hoae came off inside the machine . Look up inside the machine where the bucket would go and you should see where the hose attaches to the condensate drain . It might have pulled off .
SOURCE: our new unit will not
Despite it being new, it sounds like either the hose is clogged or to long (no more than 5 feet in length) or is kinked. The other may be, that the hose connection on the dehumidifier is clogged.
After checking the hose for clogs and length and finding nothing. The clog is in the hose connection tubing. To remove the clog do the following.
Turn the unit OFF and unplug it. Using an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO wire coat hangers, though, carefully insert the Zip Tie into the hose connector tubing, Continue to push it in, until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will gingerly have to work the Zip Tie past this bend, until the Zip Tie either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then pull the Zip Tie out slowly, while rotating (twisting) it. This will dislodge any clogs. As you reach the inserted end, be prepared for some water to follow.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
