Its one of 3 boards that are bad, the power, main or BL inverter. If your tech savvy I can give you some information to determine what board is bad if you aren't then you will need to take it in for service or order one board if it doesn't fix it order another but some boards are somewhat expensive on your set, for example the main will set you back about 125 with shipping.

How to fix main power supply

Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

My sanyo model #dp37649 turn on and off over ond over done replace main and power boards what do i need to do to fix it

Hey Chris, take off the back cover of the set and disconnect the key controller board. The key controller is the board that has your side buttons attached to it. If you replaced the main board and power supply with good parts, the only logical thing to try next is the key controller

Sanyo 42 inch hdtv no picture no sound

if just an stand by light indicator, the cause is either the power supply board failed or somewhere in the main board which doesn't send signal on to the power supply board. this case need proper trouble shooting. if you know some basic in electronics repair tried to check bad components first at the power supply like bulged capacitor, but if you don't have any idea just leave it to the trained technician to fix the problem.

My Sanyo PDP-42H2W TV WON'T TURN ON AT ALL, HAS BEEN MOVED, DID I JAR SOMETHING

Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:
1. Open the back cover.
2. Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light inverter..
3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..
4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...
5. If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you can purchased new power supply board..
6. If the problem is on main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new main board that fits to your TV..
Hope this solution will be helpful..

Hey,TV died all of sudden and had a tech tell me thinks it needs a power supply . I've fixed monitors and some older TV, so i pulled the back . I ohm'd all the fuses and are good ,also checked all...

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Hello my Sanyo dp42849 42 inch has no picture and no sound. when i turn on the tv a green light in the bottom right hand corner comes on and occasionally flashes off and then back on.

First, you need to know the sub-model of your TV.

It is called "chassis" and is shown on the back of the TV on the label where the model number is shown.

For example it can be "P42849-00" or "P42849-01".

Then search at www.coppelltvrepair.com/search or just go to www.coppelltvrepair.com and enter the link for SANYO DP SERIES to search for that.

Here's an example of a repair service (note it may NOT be the one for your exact model though!):

Hope this helps!

Hey my amp seems to be dieing on me. when i turn

maybe your frequency wasn't calibrated properly. If that doesn't fix it then next check the rms of both amps and go with the one that has the higher rating.

Sanyo DP42746 42 in. Plasma No Video

to test all y sub boards remove the main power connection to the y main and turn the tv on if it powers on one of those boards are bad.. remove both sub boards. and plug in the y main. if it powers on then that board is good either, put your multimeter on 2k omh and test the upper ysub boards black connector, the top 2 pins with negative to the 5th pin positive. you should read 500-1k ohm if its way under 100 there is a short.

the bottom ysub board place the multimeters black probe on the bottom 2 pins of the black power conection and the red on the 4th pin.. results are the same.

low resistance means theres a short in the board.
