I wouldn't recommend washing a king size comforter in your machine. That would be ******* it. I take mine to a laundry mat where they have bigger machines.
Since down comforters are very light in weight, they confuse energy efficient front loader washing machines in how much water to add. Therefore, very little water is used, which results in a semi-damp comforter at the end of a wash. Pre-soaking the comforter beforehand would help, however, now the comforter weighs a ton, and the machine will vibrate like crazy during a spin cycle. It may be better to have the comforter dry cleaned.
UL = Unbalanced LoadUL is displayed when the machine/motor control detects an off-balance load, and is steady on while the washer runs a mini-cycle to rebalance the load. Display clears if mini-cycle successfully rebalanced the load. If the mini-cycle is unsuccessful, uL will flash until the door lid is opened, allowing the customer to view and redistribute the load.
The comforter is too big for these washers. But it sounds like you may have taken out the motor coupler. It's an easy fix. If that's not it, then the transmission broke. But it is more than likely the coupler.
