Question about LG WM2277H Front Load Washer

1 Answer

I have a Lg WM2277HW front load washer. I replaced P/N 6501KW2002 (hall sensor), unfortunately still recieving error code LE. I even ran normal wash cycle no spin and 3 rinse and spins w/ no spin to ensure the LE error code wasn't due to too much soap. When I tried washing a light load of clothes the LE error code came up again (aprox. 5 to 10 min. into cycle). Per LG service manual I ran a diagnostic all was fine except for when washer had to rotate/spin. Is their something I am over looking. Please help...can't afford a sevice repair person.

Make sure hall sensor is snapped in to correct location and is secure. Take a look at repair videos from repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com for guidance. And the error code is "LE" for sure not "tE" which is sometimes confused between the two.

SOURCE: LG washer wm1832c

I had the same error code along with the drum "freezing" up. The first unit that was delivered 2 years ago leaked water from the detergent compartment and they sent a second unit. I have only had this unit for 2 years and I am very disappointed in the LG product. LG was no help on the phone and I the only people that could service it were 45min away from were I live. I took the advice of a posting on this website that it could be a part called the sensor assembly (#6501KW2002A) and ordered it from an online electronics store (www.mcminone.com). To get to the sensor assembly, you first unplug and take off the back plate that has 4 small screws. Next, unscrew the big bolt in the middle and take off the hubcap looking part the bolt was securing. Next unclip the two sets of wires on the bottom of the circle you are looking at (the set of wires to the right are connected to the sensor assembly you want to replace). Next you will unscrew the 6 or so smaller bolts to take off the circular piece that the sensor assembly is snapped to. Take it off, unclip the old sensor assembly and clip on the new one – and reassemble. This worked perfectly for me and the part only cost $18 bucks plus shipping. When working, this product works well but I will not be purchasing any LG products in the future.

SOURCE: LG WM0642HW washer gives error during spin cycle and stops.

I have this problem and you can find the solution on this same web page by searching. It is likely the Hall Sensor that needs to be replaced (see proflevy posting on Jul 16, 2008). According to the postings, it is from soap build up on the sensor and replacing it costs $18 for the part and is easy (many responses on this). I am waiting for the part and will try to fix mine soon.

SOURCE: LG LE error. WM2277HW Have replaced the Hall Sensor and ran

As long as that Tide HE is not 2x or 3x concentrated, that would be the maximum amount of detergent for a large, heavily soiled load. Lighter soiled and/or smaller loads should be about 1 tablespoon. If 2x concentrate soap, use only half that. The reason this could cause an LE error is that suds between the inner and outer drum will cause excessive drag on the inner tub, with the possible result of an LE error. I'd try to run a load on Sanitary, heavy soil level, with no clothes, and a washer cleaner such as Affresh, Washer Magic, Whirlaway hot tub cleaner, Smellywasher cleaner, or Tide washer cleaner to remove any possible build up of soap residue from the outer tub area.
Sometimes, cycle selection/ loading level/ load type can cause LE errors. Gentle wash cycles, such as Perm Press, Delicates, Hand Wash, and Wool/Silk should only be used for smaller loads. Because these cycles are more gentle in tumbling and spinning, putting too much in the drum can register an issue with the motor. Remove items, reset unit and test with a Rinse/Spin cycle.
Another possiblility would be a loose electrical connection dealing with the Hall sensor, at the sensor, the control board, or (much more unlikely) the wire connecting them.
On rare occasion, the main control board can be at fault, but generally, replacing the Hall sensor does take care of the problem. (over 90% of the time)

SOURCE: lg washer wm2277hw le code comes on think it is

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. You are right, the 'LE' error message indicates the control board has detected that the motor is either not turning, or has locked up for some reason. Monitoring the motor is the job of the Hall Effect sensor board which constantly determines the direction and speed of the motor and feeds that information back to the control board. If there is a problem between what the motor should be doing and what the hall effect sensor says the motor is doing, the 'LE' will be displayed and the cycle will be stopped. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

I have washer machine wm2277hw LG., Tromm., this machine have flash light "" LE"" Error, what is the problem?

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

LE error in your LG front load washer is displayed when either the motor is not working or the control board thinks that the motor is locked up. A Hall effect sensor is used in these washer which monitors the speed and direction of the motor and then forwards this information to the control board. Hope you understand by now that this LE error is displayed when their is an issue with the motor or when the hall effect sensor sends wrong signal to the control. Conclusion is you'll have to check both motor and hall sesor and replace the part# that is bad, usually I have seen the sensor going bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

GETTING AN ERROR CODE - LE ON MY WM2277HW

A common reason for an LE code is choosing a high spin speed on a bulky/ very heavy load. Try a cycle with a lower spin speed. If you still get the LE code, especially if it does not even do the wash tumbling, then replace the Hall sensor on the motor.

1) in my experience, sometimes this proves to be intermitent, and upon unplugging and waiting for 5 minutes does not seem to resurface again...
2)Motor lock can be caused by several things from a loose connector, to a bad motor, or even the hall effect sensor failing or dislodging from it's mount.
this could prove to be very challenging to somebody who does not know what they are working with, i suggest if the problem is not intermitent, call a tech.. hope this helps.

What does le meen on my lg washer model wm2277hw

LE means Load Error.

First try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and then retry a cycle. If you still get the LE error:

The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
