Keyguard I set keyguard to always off, however, sometimes I need to lock it depending on where I am putting my phone (pocket for example). So, when I lock it, the keyguard setting gets changed to 7 seconds and I get into this vicious cycle of unlocking, changing keyguard setting and then using the 0 to lock it..... Can I change something so that when I temporarily lock the phone with 0, the keyguard setting doesn't get changed?

Mostly all nokia phones have a full phone lock along with a keylock.
To enter a security lock, you need to activate it first.
for this,
go to your settings-> phone settings and scroll down to security keyguard. Then switch it on in case it is off.
Note: in case your phone locks at this moment, the default keylock is 12345 to unlock
After this you need to put in a new password to the security keylock
For this, Go to Settings-->Access codes--> Change Security code
Enter the default keylock i.e. 12345 . Then enter a new password which you will remember. Verify it by entering it again.
After you have done this, go back to settings->phone->Automatic Keyguard
Switch it on and enter the time for the keylock ( can be 5,10 or 15seconds depending on your choice)
After all this is done, you are good to go. Just remember your passcode.

Hello Ashish..!! its very easy to set the keyguard code. all u have to do is follow the following steps

• go to menu
• select "settings"
• now select "Security settings"
• open "change access codes"
• now open "keyguard code"
• open "change security code"
• enter the default security code for Nokia i.e., 12345
• now enter your desired 5 digit code n confirm it again. your code will be changed

to activate the keyguard code, open phone settings n then select keyguard settings. open "keyguard code". enter the code and select "on" Hope this info was useful to you.

Messages & Display Issues: The display on my phone reads "Locked" or "Keyguard"

If you see the word "Keyguard" on the display of your Kyocera phone, you may have activated the keyguard feature. Press button below "Keyguard," then press 123 or the "OK" key to unlock the Keyguard feature. The phone will display "Keyguard Disabled."

Some Kyocera phones also have the phone lock feature available. If the phone lock was activated, the default lock code is 0-0-0-0 (4 zeros). When your handset is programmed with a mobile number by your Mobile Service Provider, the default lock code will change to the last 4-digits of your mobile number. To change your handset lock code, you must go to the Security menu, then select Menu > Settings > Security > Current 4-digit lock code.

while the phone is closed ! under settings and tools there is an option for keyguard timer. you can choose how long or turn it off all together! :-) took me forever to figure out the whole closed part! :-D

When your phone is closed, hit OK for the menu, then hit 6 for Keyguard Settings. There, you can not only change the time it takes for the keyguard to automatically go on, but ALSO change the keyguard unlock options from One Step Unlock (just hitting ok) to Two Step Unlock (hitting ok then clr). It's not a 4 digit code, but it's a lot better than just hitting ok, and much more time efficient than locking your phone every time you put it in your pocket.

go to menu on the front and its the last option, keyguard setting.. and click always off

The options for the keyguard can only be accessed from the front screen. If you open up the enV and try to find the option it's not there, so on the front screen go into Settings & Tools, Keyguard.

I just called Verizon about the keyguard being too easy to unlock and they were clueless. But here's a solution: As above, using the OUTSIDE keypad, click OK, go down to keyguard settings (number 6), then hit unlock options (number 2). This gives you the option of using a one step unlock process (hitting the OK key) or a two step (hitting the OK then the Clear). I think it is still too easy to accidently answer the phone but at least this will cut down on the dialing.

With the phone closed (using the front screen) toggle to the Settings & Tools tab, and then select option 3. From there you will be able to set the keyguard timer interval. If you wish immediate keyguard press the "#" key.

When the phone is closed, b4 keyguard comes on, go into
>menu
>settings and tools
>then it should have an option of keyguard timer
then just select always off

BTW... this supposedly works for the Venus, too.
