Well first start by calling or emailing the manufacturer. They'll let you know who distributes their parts or If it's still available or not. But also could be a power supply problem.

If you have a light behind the screen then the backlight is working. It could be a connection from the board to screen but this is very unusual.
These screens have been know to fail and will need replacing.
HOWEVER
The screen is not a simple and requires an extra driver board and various components to be replaced/changed. You will need soldering equipment for surface mounted resistors etc if wish to undertake this.
The replacement kits including the screen cost around £ 400.00
Have you tried a factory reset?
Hold down top / highest white key whilst turning the keyboard on.
PV series power amplifiers common issue, i suggest that before you go to spend tons of hard-earned money to a tech shop go to radio shack, buy a cleaner spray solution and clean ALL the back switches, including Stereo/Bridge switch, then check the two green light light up at front and verify functionality as well, let me know your results.
guys i am using psr s 550b for 2years,,.and the problem was i stopped useing it for 2 months ....and when i started using it again my keys r not working only the styles r playing ....and i thought to do format since the keys r not working i am enable to format it ple tell me any solutions for it .ple.pleeeeeeeee
It sounds like you need to take it to a tech. Try a TV repairman rather than a music shop for this, should be cheaper and they will still understand how it works.
1200 ma provides more power than the 700 ma, and would not be affected by using it on a device that draws 700 ma. The voltage of the charger makes a difference as well as the polarity of the plug. (if it is dc)
If the 700 ma charger is not working, most likely the 700 ma charger is not working
If you have the old pots look on the edge of the cans (metal backs) for the code. Take them to a good electronics supplier and they can match them or measure the resistance from each outside pin with all pins free of interconnection. You will also need to know the audio tapers. The supplier should be able to tell from the codes.
I don't have a Variax but it sounds like an IC (integrated circuit) inside the guitar is getting hot and until it cools down, it does not function properly. Try the Line 6 website to find the nearest repair center. Good Luck!
