My laptop does not recognize my printer in a wireless connection. After I changed my internet connection to Att-Uverse my laptop does not recognize the printer after I installed the software of my brother machine. Both, computer and printer are successfully connected to the wireless internet router.

Reinstall the Printer on the laptop, using the WiFi connection choice when it comes up in the install wizard. The Driver will "Scan" the network and find the printer.

SOURCE: Networking a Printer on a wireless network

Deanna, if the mfc is not that old, take it back to the dealer and ask for changing it to a wireless printer (extension: CW). Do you really need the fax function? If not, try this printer: DCP 750CW. If yes, get the MFC 845 CW. The CN printer have to be connected directly to router or pc/laptop.

SOURCE: I can not print

You could try to use static ip to remove possible problems with dns retrieving:

  • Set the machine to static ip (Menu -> Network -> WLAN -> Boot Method -> Static).
  • Check the ip number on the machine (Menu -> Network -> WLAN -> IP address)
  • On your PC, go to Control Panel -> Printers
  • Right-click printer, choose Properties
  • Choose Ports and click "Add Port"
  • Double-click on Standard TCP/IP, follow the guide and type in your IP number earlier retrieved.
  • Save settings, press OK and the problem could be solved (if it was due to dns problems).
Also, if it works, you can change the network settings for scanner driver to go to ip address too instead of dns, even if it isn't a problem right now, it could later be.

Kyocera milano 5121 recognizes and remembers my att uverse gateway, but switches to disabled within a few moments.

Click on your wifi connection and have it forget the uverse connection, and then turn wifi off.. Then reboot your phone. When it comes back up, turn wifi on, search for your uverse connection, put in your password, and see if that fixes it. Sometimes the connection becomes corrupted.

Dynex tv won't give me the option to connect to a wireless network. It defaults to wired

This would normally indicate either a compatibility problem, the wireless network is not broadcasting, or you do not have enough signal to see the network. First thing I would try is most devices that can connect to WiFi have the option of connecting to a network that is not listed. I would try that. If that still does not work I would then try disabling all wireless security on the router just to see if that will work(I do not recommend leaving the security disabled any longer than it takes to test this). If none of that works then the next thing would be to check the signal. If you have a laptop, tablet, or cell phone that is connected to your wireless network then bring it over to the tv. If you loose signal, or have low signal then you will need to find a way to get more signal. Even if you do not see low signal on other devices the tv can still have too low signal partly because the antennas are usually in the back where the signal would be blocked by the tv as well as any other equipment you may have around the tv. Try to make sure that there are no metal objects between the tv and the router, and if possible try to get the router as close to directly behind the tv as possible. The more walls the wireless signal has to go through the weaker the signal will be, and metal can reflect the signal, completely blocking it, as well as causing noise on anything near the metal.

Ethernet (wired) connection to computer works but "wireless" light does not come on and my laptop cannot locate a wireless access point or network device. It has worked in the past but after...

You will need to get a hold of att. They will need to have you unplug the 2wire and then reconnect. They will need to reset the gateway from their end. good Luck.

I have a XP laptop that used to connect to my Uverse internet

Sometimes tech support advise to use manual ip address.
check out the work laptop settings. Is it manually configurated ip address?
if so... use the same settings on yours, EXCEPT the ip address itself, use the same gateway, same dns, etc... in the IP address, change only the last octect (last numbers).

Lost connectivity to network printer when switched to ATT u-Verse

Is the printer connected via wireless? When I recently connected up a new wireless printer to my UVerse network, the printer manual said that establishing the first connection works better via an Ethernet cable directly to the Uverse router. After the printer is set up once, then I could remove the ethernet cable and connect to the printer via wireless from all my computers.
For all wireless PCs that were previously connected via wireless to dsl, you need to create a new network connection for each one, then enter the key that is listed on the side of your Uverse router when prompted. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to establish the connection.
I am amazed that ATT was so unhelpful on these issues. I was one of their first Uverse customers in Texas, and several times over the last years, techs would visit my house to solve a problem or hook something up, explaining to me as he went. That their helpful attitude is deteriorating is a real shame.
