SOURCE: Can not access menu or input functions

Hi rduncan27,
I will be happy to help. 88% of LCD tv problems are with the backlight, the symptoms you described indicate a probable inverter malfunction. Lets do a simple test to check the functionality.

  1. Get the tv to a point that it is producing sound.
  2. Take a flashlight and shine it on the screen.
  3. Look very closely for a dark video image.
Let me know your findings and we can proceed from there.

SOURCE: can i get a screen for memorex model# mlt3221

Even If you could, and you can't it would be directly threw memorex. You can go to there website, look for the support section and email them asking. Chances are if they will sell you JUST a screen it will be pretty expensive and as far as installing it that would be an entirely different situation. Sorry your screen broke and this probably isnt the news you want to hear.

Thanks for stopping by Fixya!

SOURCE: TV will not turn on. Went dead shortly after turning on can't get it to turn on again. Seems like it is not getting AC. Yes its plugged in and there is juice to the socket.

If the red ring in front of tv is not lit when it is plugged in it is probably the power pcb. I just ordered one from searspartsdirect.com part # 860-AZO-IPOS150H FOR $45 plus shipping. installed today and everything is fine.

SOURCE: "No Signal" on Memorex 8" under the counter LCD TV/DVD

Solution..... The unit ONLY accepts digital TV input. Typical cable input is NOT digital. If you want to run cable into the TV, you must treat it as auxiliary input, meaning you have to connect it through a cable box, just like the input was from a VCR. You then control the TV channels from the cable box, not the TV itself.

You can typically sign up for digital cable for an extra fee, just like for any other HDTV.

I wish I could give you a better answer but this is the only way we got ours to work as we do not have HDTV service on our cable yet.

SOURCE: Bought Memorex MVD2059D 20

IF the Standby Red Light does not come on when you plug in the TV:

1) Check fuse on back panel next to power cord. Pull out cord and pop fuse holder out. On an ohmmeter, it should read 0(short)-that is a good fuse.

2) Check the fuse on power supply board next to power connector. It is soldered onto board.

3) Be careful with this step: With all boards screwed in place, plug in TV and then unplug it. Next take a Voltmeter set on 200 Volts and test large electrolytic cap in middle of board-should have @100-200 volts on it. Do not short the capacitor-big fireball flash explosion if you do!

If 1-3 test OK, then:

D10 is shorted. HER304 in middle of Power supply board near large electrolytic cap. Replace with same diode or Radio Shack 276-1144 3A 400PIV Diode. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH HIGH VOLTAGE PRESENT ON POWER SUPPLY BOARD. UNPLUG POWER CORD!!! OBSERVE PROPER POLARITY WHEN REPLACING DIODE-LOOK WHERE THE BAND IS.

Vizio M261VP 26'' LCD TV no picture, logo does not light up

If the Vizio logo(power indicator) isn't coming on when the set is plugged in, most likely you have a issue with the power supply. Your standby power supply isn't working, and without it, you will have a dead set.

Power went off and came back on last Friday and now tv wont turn back on

Have you got a stand by light on, or is tv dead totally.I would Check plug fuse if dead, My suspect would be power supply capacitors drying out (had this fault recently with friends tv) this caused tv to be working sometimes but eventually stuck on standby. Capacitors are cheap but not a job for the novice.
You could ask local tv shop for estimate

My Tv power light is not on

First make sure it does have at least red indicator on the front panel, if not, the standby +5vdc is not working, common problem with this monitor is dead power supply due to bad caps, shorted transistor and Zener Diode in the standby power supply.

Hi I have an LG LCD tv and this morning it just went dead, as if there is no power getting to it at all. The electric supply is ok Regards BMcD

If it is completely dead (no standby light, flashing LED blinks), the power supply failed. Replace the Power Supply board to fix.

Sharp LC46SB54U TV will not power on

It can be as simple as a blown fuse in the main power supply module, if you get not indicator light at all, then it will be the power supply has gone out, if you do get some indicator light, the 5v standby power supply is still functioning but not the main section of the power supply module. The filter capacitors look good, no bulging tops?

Tv went off while watching a program power standby red light blinks 6 times then pauses then repeats tried unplugging unit waiting a few minutes then replugged same results nothing. can anyone help me ?...

Here's an excerpt from the Sony Manual online. And the link - http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/webtree.pl?template=EN&mdl=KDF55XS955&content_id=68&category_id=11&problem_id=52

The POWER/STANDBY (red) indicator flashes three times
If your power/standby indicator is flashing in a pattern of three flashes, this may indicates that the lamp cover is not attached securely. Follow the directions in the Operating Manual under changing your lamp that related to closing and securing the Lamp Cover. Ensure that the Lamp Cover Door is securely fastened by tightening each screw.

The POWER/STANDBY (red) indicator flashes continously
If your power/standby indicator is flashing continuously, and the lamp cover has been secured, your TV may be in need of service.

The POWER/STANDBY indicator is lit up green (not flashing)
A sustained green light indicates your TV is on.

The POWER/STANDBY indicator is lit up red (not flashing)
A sustained red light from your power/standby indicator simply indicates that your TV is in standby mode. This shows you that your TV is ready to be turned on with the remote.

Is it the power light and not the lamp light? If the lamp light is flashing then replace the lamp.
