Never remove or insert a memory card while the camera is turned on. Try removing the battery, waiting about 30 minutes, and then putting in a freshly charged battery.

Memory card is full and when I plug in the USB cord and turn on the camera I get a message that my device is not connected or is busy, or that it contains no pictures!!

Causes of memory card corruption
  • Turning off a camera before an image is completely written to the memory card.
  • Removing the memory card from a camera while an image is being written to the card.
  • Removing the card from a memory card reader while files are still being transferred to a computer.
  • Batteries conking out as files are being transfered directly from the camera to a computer. Note: always make sure you have fully charged batteries before transferring images.
  • Removing the card from a card reader while folders and files from the card are open on a computer.
  • Opening, deleting, renaming or moving files on the card while its contents are open on a computer.
  • Using a memory card which has not been formatted in the camera. Use the delete/erase function when needed, however a card should be regularly formatted.
  • Formatting a card in a computer instead of the camera.
  • Inserting a second memory card into a card reader before closing and removing the first when viewing images on the card from a computer.
  • Taking photos when camera batteries are nearly empty.
  • Taking photos too rapidly so the camera can not complete writing one image before starting the next.
  • Continually shooting and deleting, shooting and deleting images when the card is full.
  • Letting a memory card get too full before downloading the images to a computer or storage device. Cards that are too full may overwrite the card headers.
  • Using a memory card from one camera in a different camera without formatting it in the new camera first.

My vivicam x024 won't turn on. how do i remove the memory card? will the photos still be on the card if I remove it?

The SD memory card slot in located on the side og your camera. Push the SD card and it will pop out.
The photos are stored on the SD memory and removing it from the camera will not lose the photos stored on this SD memory card.
Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into anUSB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory cardinto the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as anUSB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open thefolder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

My cam says "memory card

Hi,
If the camera displays Memory card error or No Memory Card when a memory card is inserted or any of the above error messages, make sure that the card is inserted properly. If this is the case, you may wish to Format the memory card in the camera using the Setup Menu option [Format] as shown below. Please be aware that formatting the memory card will remove any images currently stored on the card along with any other data. This can also be caused when images shot with another camera are stored on the memory card.

If after formatting the card in the camera the error persists, try another memory card. If this occurs with only the one card it is likely that the memory card is defective, if the error persists over more than one card the camera may require service. If the card appears to be defective you may wish to contact the memory card manufacturer.

Thank you!!

I have a HP PSC 1610 All in one printer and I tried putting my media card in the SD slot and it tries to read the card but the red light flashes and says memory card error. HELP Please!

If using the Card Reader -

The HP all-in-one has detected an error with the memory card.

1. More than one memory card is inserted in the HP all-in-one.

2. An incompatible camera is connected through the camera port.

3. A memory card is inserted and a digital camera is connected at the same time.

Solution:

Remove and reinsert the memory card. It may be inserted incorrectly. If the problem continues, the memory card may be defective.

Remove one of the memory cards. Only one memory card can be used at a time.

Check the user guide that came with the camera to see if it supports PictBridge. If it does not, try using the cable that came with the camera to connect the camera to the USB port on the back of the HP all-in-one instead of to the HP all-in-one camera port. If the camera does support PictBridge, make sure the camera is set to PictBridge mode. See the user guide that came with the camera for instructions on how to do this.
Remove the memory card or disconnect the camera. Only one can be used at a time.

You might try the following - Reformat the memory card in the camera or format the memory card in a Windows XP computer by selecting the FAT format.
Hope this helps!

Won't turn turn on. A red and green light comes on, but nothing on the screen.

Step one: Reset the camera
  1. If you have an optional memory card installed, remove it.
NOTE: Although removing an optional memory card is not necessary for performing the reset, it eliminates the memory card as a possible cause of the problem.
  2. Remove all batteries from the camera for at least five seconds.
  3. Reinsert the batteries and close the Battery/Memory card door.
  4. After verifying that the camera works without an optional memory card, reinsert the card if you removed one in Step 2.
Try to turn the camera on. If it now works properly, the camera experienced a temporary electrical problem and should now work properly.

Sd card cannot be read & internal memory of camera cannot be read

Which Kodak camera model?
It may not support a large SD (SDHC) memory card.
Remove the card and remove the batteries.
Turn ON the camera (I know, no batteries) for one minute.
Turn OFF camera and install batteries.
Do not insert the memory card.
Does the internal memory work?
If so, insert memory card.

If it's ok to format the card, do so.
If not, then use a USB adapter and copy the memory card to your [My Pictures] folder.
Format memory card.

Cannot find instructions in manual for Nikon Coolpix S210 on how to delete ALL photos from memory disk. It will let me delete one at a time but I want to wipe the memory card clean. Thanks for any and all...

These instructions are from the Instruction Manual of the Coolpix S 210 and need to be carried out within the Set-Up Menu.

Refer Page 19:

Removing Memory Cards
Before removing memory cards, turn the camera off
and confirm that the power-on lamp is off. Open the
battery-chamber/memory card slot cover and press the
card in 1 to partially eject the card 2. The card can
then be removed by hand.
B Formatting Memory Cards
If the message at right is displayed, the memory card must be
formatted before use (A110). Note that formatting permanently
deletes all pictures and other data on the memory card. Be sure
to make copies of any pictures you wish to keep before formatting
the memory card.
Use the multi selector to choose Yes and press k. The
confirmation dialog will be displayed. To start formatting, choose
Format and press k.
Do not turn the camera off or open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover until
formatting is complete.
• The first time you insert the memory cards used in other devices into the COOLPIX S210, be sure to
format them using this camera (A110).

Refer Pg 110:

 Format Memory/m Format Card
Use this option to format the internal memory or a memory card.
Formatting the Internal Memory
To format the internal memory, remove the memory
card from the camera.
The Format memory option appears in the setup
menu.
Formatting a Memory Card
When the memory card is inserted in the camera, the
Format card option appears in the setup menu.

Hope this helps
