RCA 50in Rear projection TV Turns on and off every 30 seconds-New

# month old RCA 50" rear projection tv turns on and off every 30 sec as soon as i turn it on. did this once after the first week i had it but the next morning it was fine and never did it again till now and wont stop after 3 days. Have tried unplugging it... Nothing works. RCA says the lamp is blown. I find that impossible as when the tv is on the picture is fine and since it did this before once and it went away. Please help. I found this question asked by tons of people but no answers have been posted. Could this be from a bad HD cable or similar? Thanks in advance! -Jamie

If u have only had it a month it should be under warranty get them to repair it

sounds like the power supply capacitors CP150, CP120 and CP114 need replacement. You can get the RCA repair kit by that same name from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the caps and the CD with repair instructions.

Try pressing the TV button on the remote then pressing right or left arrow buttons on the remote.

No, just replace the Lamp but make sure the Lamp Fan is OK first.

I have an LG DLP. that turns off after 15 -30 seconds
If the second light is blinking to orange or red, that is usually the lamp indicator light on an LG DLP tv. That indicates your bulb needs replaced, or something surrounding the bulb has failed (like the cooling fan for the bulb for example) IF you have a spare bulb handy, I'd replace the bulb, keeping in mind if you touch any part of a new bulb with your bare hands, you just cut the life of the bulb by more then half.
