I have a p42h401 when power button turned on steady blue light, no sound or picture,fan tested good but does not turn on with the tv, what board is most likey the cause? when the tv is 1st turned on the power button must be held a few seconds to go from red to blue and a click is heard. the last time it was working i was told it said, hdmi no sync

Do you have sound?
When blue light on press power on remote.What happens?
Try reset. Unplug tv hold power button on tv for 60 seconds, let tv sit for 10 minuets, then plug in and turn on. What happens?
With replacement of both boards you should atleast have sound.The blu flashing is booting for a tv before it turns on steady.
What was the inital problem you had for you to replace both boards?

Are you certain the replacement power supply is good? A defective main board or power supply can cause this problem.

If it is from ShopJimmy you can't be certain it's a good one :-)

And second, that sounds like a main board problem, not power board problem.

IF you got a good board and a lot of replacement boards aren't good the only other thing that would make the set dead is if you have a bad main board, if your able to pull the back off and test the either 3.5 or 5 volt standby voltage if its ok then look at the PSON voltage, it should be at a half volt and go to about 3.5 when the power button is pushed..if you don't have standby you have a bad power board yet, if you have standby but no PSON the main board is bad, if you have PSON its back to the PS as being bad...Good luck!!

Ur LCD inverter board is dead,must change to get ur picture back.It usally a long board.

its most likely the common hitachi fault....its a little resistor that burns out, it happened mainly on the old crt tv's. any tv repair shop should be able to sort it for you.

so i had the same problem. red light came on, but no blue light or anything on the screen. it turns out that there were some capaciters blown on the circuit power board. unless you have a good understanding of circuit boards, its not a quick fix. but for someone who knows their electronics, its not too hard, and its not expensive to fix, unless you bring it into a store. but the supplies needed arent expensive. good luck
