My LG washing machine has power but no light display and doesn't work. I washed a bathrug and when I returned the machine had power (makes a tone when the on button is pushed), but none of the controls light up or work.

I have a LG wt5001cw top loader washer and after it completed its cycle it shut off and will not turn back on. How do I fix it?

Have you tried eBay for the parts?

Double check the cord to make sure all the wires are hooked up to the washer correctly, check your breaker/fuse box to make sure you don't have a tripped breaker or blown fuse, and check the outlet for power by plugging a known working item into it or using a circuit checker.

If the washer is getting power, try holding the power button down(if there is one) for 3-5 seconds.

You are quite right, the Child Lock is engaged.

3 options for you depending on the machine:

Find the two buttons Temp and Options in the panel. Turn ON the machine, press these two buttons together for 3 seconds and that should reset it.

Or

It might have a little kids face above a lock key, inbetween the wash and rinse buttons, hold these for 3/5 seconds and it should work

Or

If it has a program selector twist dial, set the selector to off or the end of a program (If it doesn't have, don't worry) Then, unplug from the mains. Leave for 20 minutes without tampering.

Power back on and the machine should have reset

How to run a diagnostic test:

1. Unplug power cord, then wait 30 seconds.
2. After plugging in, follow these instructions...

To Enter SERVICE MODE: Press Signal-Delay-5ignal-Delay (within 30 seconds of plugging in washer).
To Exit SERVICE MODE: Repeat Signal-Delay-Signal-Delay.
