that is bad.you will need to get a virus program that will take this out or at least put it into quarantine asap.
so run a scan now with what ever virus program who have and hope it at least puts it in to quarantine.
a trojan can be very bad it could wipe you clean.
so please do a scan now.
Are you running under a limited account? If no, you may have a virus, malware, adware, a browser hijacker, or pups (potentially unwanted programs).
A. If your computer will boot and you can operate it ok...
Download and install Malwarebytes and Superantispyware (Note: If you can\'t do the download on your machine, do it on a friend\'s, put them on a thumb drive, and install them from it). Then scan your computer with each program, and quarantine anything found.
B. If your computer won\'t boot, or can\'t operate properly after boot...
Tap F8 when you are booting, select "Safe Mode With Networking". Download and install Malwarebytes and Superantispyware (Note: If you can\'t do the download on your machine, do it on a friend\'s, put them on a thumb drive, and install them from it). Then scan your computer with each program, and quarantine anything found.
C. If this process finds malware, to keep stuff like that from coming back, I recommend you get the paid version of Malwarebytes.
You
basically want to update the virus definitions and select all of the
checkable boxes to scan and run the scan and then allow it to delete or
quarantine the bad files.....
I would suggest that you may have a virus / spyware infection that has infected this windows file.
If you can boot into SAFE Mode ( reboot the computer) and when the
screen goes to the black background with white writing start pushing F8 -
keep doing so until you get a screen that gives you a list of things
you can do -
ie:
restart windows normally
safe mode
safe mode w/networking
use the arrow keys on the keyboard and choose to boot into safe mode.- may take a couple of minutes
once there i would suggest running virus / antispyware scans as well as
running a BOOT SCAN (a type of virus scan that scans the hard drive
before it gets into windows)
NOTE on running virus/spyware scans - ALWAYS QUARANTINE the file
infected - DO NOT DELETE - if you delete a critical windows system file
you will cause windows to completely crash and in that instance you
would have to reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything.
Hi Kevmak13,
Before you re-install your operating system, you might want to try a few things to remove the infections. First, try booting up in safemode with networking. You can do this by tapping the F8 key immediately after pressing the power button to boot-up. Choose safemode with networking and wait for the computer to be up and running. Download malwarebytes' from here:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/9942/
Install and run a quick scan. When it's done scanning, click "show results" and make sure that all boxes are checked and remove them all. After this, do not restart the computer yet. Go to the quarantine tab and delete all quarantined items. Exit malwarebytes' and restart your computer.
I hoe this helps,
Cheers

If your PC is infected, use MalwareBytes Antimalware to scan the C: again. It is a free application and can be downloaded from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Error 42144 is also an indication that your registry is corrupted because of some serious viral attack. It usually results in generating a Runtime 42144 Error.
I would fix the virus problem first before attempting to log into yahoo messenger. If you have a virus you need to quarantine it. If you have a anti-virus make sure it's up to date. Run the a scan on your pc and do a window's update. The anti-virus should be able to quarantine the virus or give you an option to do so.
I have found running it then stopping it partway thru, quarantining the items found so far and re - starting it has worked well in the past. Gd tip: always run 2 antispyware apps. Try spybot search and destroy or Malwarebytes, both are free and very effective. Same advice goes for antivirus programs. AVG free is good and you can`t beat the price :-)
