Whether it's still relevant or not, you can get most of Panasonic's manuals for their Japanese car navigation here:
http://car.panasonic.jp/support/manual/navi/
Just run either the site or the PDF you want through google translate.

Hmmm same situation......but this is what I found out in my investigating.
I found the main unit under the passenger seat - oh DVD player .... fail - didn't recognise 3 types of DVD's I had.
I tried a music CD and the music list came up - but couldn't hear it - I know it has some sound capacity though.
I figured out that when in TV mode and you can tap the screen and a menu comes up > hold the button that shows on the very left down, and it seems to auto tune - but failing on any channels in Auckland (hmm thought can I use my iphone and Belkin FM reciever to send TV to it - will let you know how that pans out).
Top right button seems to toggle with TV/Backing camera/DVD/Some cartridge
And the only manuals I could find was
this
this - part 2
guide part only - as each page is a seperate PDF
That folks is where I am at - I am going to see if there anything reusable or you just get rid of it.
bit more research found only some PDF's which I would need translating.
