Maytag Performa PAV2300 washer leaks

This machine leaks, but only occasionally. It has done this off and on for 7 years. It leaked during a wash this morning, so I sat on the floor behind it thru a whole cycle and it did not leak. When it does leak it leaks between 2 and 16 ounces. All input and drain hoses show no signs of past leaks (rust, corrosion), nor do I see any rusted screws, etc at the base of the machine. My late wife speculated that it was throwing water up and out of the tub while spinning, but we've never been able to catch it doing it. Any ideas where this water might be coming from?
