I have replaced the bulb on my tv and at random times the tv will turn itself off and flash a yellow light. The only way to get it to turn back on is to unplug it and plug it right back in. This works pretty well, but the problem seems to be getting more frequently. Any suggestions as to the problem. It seems to flash more then 2 times per 5 seconds but I haven't watched it to closely

Sounds as though the system may have overheated. Do you regularly check the filters and clean them? An airduster can also help to blow dust out of hard to reach places.
Have you even replaced the bulb / lamp on this TV - other than the green light - did they turn solid red / orange at any point? My initial thought is you need to replace the bulb.
Have you actually replaced the lamp first? A weakened lamp will often cause random shutdown or troubles during initial firing of the lamp. The LG televisions will be just the bulb itself not the complete lamp assembly. It's not hard to replace the bulb as long as you first allow the TV to cool down for a minimum of an hour. Then you will want to handle the lamp with latex gloves on to avoid getting oils from your skin on the bulb. You can find your bulb replacement at http://www.partstore.com
1: You have a lot of dust in the vents so the bulb gets too hot. You might see a flashing red temperature light on the front status button. Clean the vents to the light housing and see if that solves the problem. You might also want to physically disconnect the power from the TV for about 30 seconds to allow it to reset if it is just a random problem.
2: Your light is about to go out. If you have had the tv for a few years, it is possibly time to replace the light bulb. You can usually tell this because the light will be dimmer than normal and possibly all 3 indicator lights will be blinking on the status button on the front.
I have a 56" model that I have had a similar problem. My bulb burned out in <90 days. Warranty was 90 days on the bulb itself. When the TV picture goes out, the indicator LEDS blink on and off.
Here is what you have to determine:
1) First cover the left LED with a piece of paper so that you can't see it blinking. I don't know if your layout is the same as my TV. You may have to switch the paper blocking the LED.
2) Pay attention to the other LED and READ its' flashing code. In my case, the code was 2-3. It would flash 2 times, pause briefly, then flash 3 times. This meant code 23. That indicated the bulb was burned out.
3) If you look in the manual, It does have a code list of some sorts to tell you of the codes and their meanings. Hope this helps.
most probably you have a bad bulb. in most cases you can take the bulb out and you will see it cracked inside the glass mirror.anyway the first approach is to replace the bulb.the part number should be on a label on the bulb.if you can not find it leave a message and i will find it for you.
capacitor problems in power supply or a regulater isolate the power suppley by disconecting the line output stage/unplug scan coils for example and run a 60w bulb as a dummy load one wire to earth and the other to rail voltage colecter of line output transister if the bulb glows steady the power supplys fine
