Hi. Turn your machine on and open the steam/hot water function as the machine starts to heat. This will allow the air to be released from the water circuit, and water to fill the circuit. You may have to wait for the machine to heat before it will allow you to operate the steam/hot water function, but this is how you do it. Just keep doing this proceedure until water starts to come out of the outlet. The pump will sound noisey at the start, but will quiten down once the water has filled it. Hope thishas helped. Enjoy your coffee. Dazza Repairer

tip

Saeco, Gaggia, Spidem VENTILATE, Prime what is mean, how to perfrom

Ventilate or priming or else loading all means the filling the machine system full with water, like pump, piping and boiler. This must perform first time of starting up the machine.
It will also appear if the water system in not full of water especially after the steam preparation some steam can be blocked in the system and the machine recognized it by luck in the pressure.
Another reason that ventilate it appears on screen is because air have been insert and blocked in the water system usually from water filter or water softener located in water tank.
So here how you Ventilate or Priming or loading:
Place a container beneath the steam tube.
Turn the knob counter clockwise to start loading the circuit.
Wait until a steady stream of water flows out from the nozzle.
Turn the knob clockwise
to terminate the circuit loading process.
Remove the container. The machine is warming
up; lights are flashing.
Note: You must load the circuit before starting up
the machine for the first time, if it has been inoperative
for a lengthy period or if the water tank has
been completely emptied. The circuit must also be
loaded each time the light flashes

Hello The lights on the front of the machine wont stop flashing so I can't press the cup symbols to make coffee. The hot water is coming out though through the steamer spout. Thanks!

Circuit Priming
When the machine operates for the first time and when
all the water has been dispensed, the machine circuit
needs priming. In this case, the 4 buttons of the control
panel will flash at the same time.
• Press the ON/OFF button . The 4 buttons will
flash.
• Place a container under the cappuccinatore.
• Open the "hot water/steam" knob by turning
it anticlockwise.
• Press the hot water button.
• Wait for water dispensing to stop.
• Close the "hot water/steam" knob by turning it
clockwise. Remove the container.
When the first priming ends, the warming up
starts. Before brewing coffee, water and steam,
please wait for lights 15 and 16 to be permanently on.
The machine is now ready to brew coffee and dispense
steam. Please see related sections for operating details.
Note: if priming is not completed, the 4 buttons
will keep on fl ashing. The machine cannot be
used.

I have a Saeco Incanto Classic and the ventilate message will not disappear, even after sending 4 full watertanks through the steam nozzle. The solution posted above does not work.

Having read the other reviews here, I was prepared for the cryptic "VENTILATE" message. (The manual refers to this procedure as "Loading the circuit", which doesn't help to clarify things.) Of course this refers to what Americans would call "priming" the machine. As mentioned in another review, there is a plastic hand pump supplied for priming, but that is only needed in the event that the electric pump fails to self-prime. All I had to do (following the quick-start instructions) was to select the Hot Water function; the internal pump quickly primed itself. i hope this helps Lee Davidian

What is the priming?

Prime refers to priming the pump. The error message means that there is air in the system which is preventing the pump from pumping water. To correct this, fill the tank with water, press the water button on the right side, and turn the water/steam knob to open. Allow the water to flow until the stream is steady. Press the water button again and your problem should be fixed

Can't Prime Water Circuit

Hi You need to switch Steam ON so it heats up and then turn Steam button OFF (no light) and then turn steamer knob counter clockwise you will hear the pump start up and then water will stream out. This is when it's primed. Turn steamer clock wise to close. You must do this everytime you use the steamer.

Saeco Odea GO How do I

This is a common problem that is not explained in the manual. Turn the left silver knob on the top deck of the machine past the steam icon to the water drop icon. Let about eight ounces of water out into a cup and the circuit is primed.
