The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

well look at this,, I use many projectors due to my work with artist and my bussiness in wedding and happybirdays,I have to chage those expensive lamp frecuenly. a cople of time the lamp fuse off rapily in short time and the store is ok no buddies warrant electric or electronic parts so we the custumerpay for the in line manufacture bad parts so nothing to do buy another one and thats all you can do but clean the soket and allway look for crack or weare parts in the socket I use to inspect everything in the lamp system specialy the socket and clean the contatc were you conect the lamp with a very thinn sharper tool if you suspec change the lamp socket they always work at verry high temperature ....good luck and rate me

mine is doing the same thing but i was able to pinpoint it to a capacitor arching and smoking. haven't replaced it yet so i'm not sure if it's just a bad capacitor or a more involved issue.

you can get the ATC336 DLP Power board repair kit, that often repairs the 5 blink error code. The kit conbtains the replacement capacitors and the info on which board and capacitors that need replacement and also includes the service manual for the TV on CD. Yes, i had the same issue. High voltage trans. and the HV distributor (splitter) goes bad on there tv, they are known for that. I have the part numbers for the HVT p/n 258655 and HV distributor(splitter) p/n 258512. The two p/n are for HD56W58 proj. tv
