My Sharp portable AC has an exhaust fan that rubs and makes noise, not sure how to fix. ...Mike

It's likely you machine is twisted and not sitting square/true. Try holding the bottom while slightly twisting the top one direction or the other.

Frigidiare galarie dishwisher

This sounds like a question already answered by another expert, where he mentioned that if the dishwasher is only 9 months old, that you should contact the seller, lest you void the warranty by trying to fix it yourself. That being said, I would recommend that you check the end of the drain hose where it goes into the garbage disposal, and make sure it is not plugged or clogged there. Also make sure that port in your garbage disposal is clear. If you just bought a new garbage disposal, be aware that they come with a molded-in plastic plug at the end of that dishwasher port, and you have to knock it out with a nutdriver (or some similar tool) and a hammer.

My Emerson Portable Ice Maker started makeing a loud grinding sound when pumping water -why?

I had this same problem that cropped up about 6 months after I purchased the ice maker. When it pumped water into the ice tray, the water pump would make a loud grinding noise. I inspected the pump and found that the impeller was in contact with the bottom of the pump housing. I partially disassembled the pump and inserted a small washer I fabricated out of electrical tape to enlarge the gap between the impeller and the bottom of the pump housing. I also took care not to over-tighten the screws when reassembling the pump. The grinding noise went away completely, and it's back to normal operation now. Even if you have no idea what you're doing, like me, it's a 15 minute fix with practically zero materials cost.

I have no idea what caused the problem originally, unless there was a washer that disintegrated over several months' worth of use.

GE Nautilius 24" built in about 6 yrs old won't start - it hums and goes through the cycles but doesn't run. Water came in and now won't drain either

Sounds like one of two things 1. The timer unit is gone, that would need replacing. 2. the syphin relay is stuck, this is located below the syphin on the underside of the dishwisher. BE CAREFUL! You will be dealing with electrics.

This is a stand alone portable 10,000 sharp portable AC

I had the same issue of filling up after a couple hours but mine started making some pretty loud noises as well just before shutting itself down and lighting all three lights. The top drain valve would no longer work and the only way I could drain it was through the bottom (gravity) drain valve. I took the unit apart and found that the simple water pump that is used for draining and the evaporating process had lost the thin filter screen on the bottom and the screen became lodged in the impeller of the pump preventing it from spinning. I removed the worn and broken plastic screen, carefully pushed the impeller back up on the shaft until it bottomed out, and cleaned all the built up sediment off the entire pump. After reassembling everything, the ac unit runs like new again and the noise is completely gone. Cost? $0
I imagine you can just order a new pump from sharp and save the time and effort of cleaning the pump.
Hope this helps!
