TV won't turn on

It sounds that, the memory IC to your TV has damaged. This IC can be located very near to main system control IC. A very small one, with 8 solder terminals. Even though it is very small, function of it while the TV works is great. The work is a semi-skilled one, and you must have some knowledge in electronics to proceed.

Akai LCT3285TA Television won't turn on

the problem is in the power supply(they know about it good luck fighting them)but there is good news.you can remove the power supply and replace electrolytic caps,EC18,EC19,EC20 all of them are 1000mf at16 volt use 1000mf at25 volt.you can also go to shopjimmy.com enter model number you will see power supply part number MLT169B
it will be cheaper for you to replace the caps, the board cost about $80.00 from them

I have pretty much the same problem that everyone else is having red standby light flashing back to red instead of turning green and powering up the tv screen the only thing I've done different is mount it...

I did it tonight, worked on the Akai for two hours. I don't have any electronics experience and just followed what these guys did and spent less that $20 for parts and supplies from Radio Shack. Bought three different capacitors, mine was 1000uf 35wvdc 85+, a solder kit, and a desoldering vacuum tool. My soldering wasn't the best, actually the worst I have ever seen but I figured if it doesn't work, I could care less anymore. Apparently it worked. My first TV fix and i made it work! Akai TV not working

Does the sound not work either? If it does then the backlight in your lcd screen has went out and your better off buying a new one because it is more than the tv is worth to fix it. Just start running through the imputs with about a 5 second pause between as this tv takes a few seconds to switch imputs and make sure you have cable or something connected to it the imput button is the second one down from the power button on the bottom right side of the tv. But if you dont have sound and it just seems completly dead most likely it probly got hit by lightning and slowly quit. Or maby you need to just buy a power supply if you dont see the green light anymore. Worst case senario your tv just got up and quit or maby it burned it self up from getting to hot. You can get a power supply on ebay for as cheap as 34.99. Hope this helps.
