It is likely the fault is the battery and not the charger. To confirm this take the charger to any Radio Shack and ask them to test the charger or if you have a small meter do it yourself, the charging voltage will be up to 5 volts more than the rated battery voltage of the drill, so if you get a high reading don't worry about it. Fast charger will be way over the battery rating, also fast chargers have a cost, they shorten battery life due to heat. I have had many battery powered tools, I have found that the batteries last about 2 years on average. I have this same Dewalt drill driver.

My DeWalt DCR015 worksite charger/radio won't allow me to charge the battery pack

When that happens it is difficult to know whether it is the charger or the battery that is at fault.

An intelligent charger will not charge a battery it "sees" as faulty. Testing the charger with a known good battery is the way to go.

Dewalt battery charger. Redlight stays on constantantly doesn't charge the battery. Any way to test or fix this charger?

Since the charger says that the battery is not faulty, but it does not charge the battery, then the charger is faulty. The same happened to my client. The dewalt chargers do have 1 year warranty.

It really sounds like the electronics in the charger are failing or failed, it's probably cheaper to buy a new charger

I am in Canada and I cannot get a Black & Decker 36V charger which is LCS36. The B & D 36V battery looks identical to the Dewalt 36V battery but I cannot be positive. Do you know if the B & D LBXR36...

What I do know is that some NiCd 12V Black decker batteries that look similar to the dewalt ones they are charged by the dewalt charger.
But there are 12V Nicd black and decker batteries that they can not be charged due to an extra plastic edge that does not allow to be charged by the dewalt charger.
Now if you do have the dewalt lithium 36V charger and if the black and decker battery is a 36V lithium one and can not be charged due to a plastic edge then I would recommend to risk to destroy the plastic edge in order the black and decker battery to be charged.
