There is no limit to the size, but the phone must format the memory. It does not matter where you formatted it originally, it must be formatted on the on the phone by its readers format command.

Your Finepix F10 does not support SDHC (High Capacity) memory cards.
You can only use standard SD cards with a maximum capacity of 2GB.

New technics are not always backwards compatible, sorry for that.

Unable to open to read micro sd 8gb in window mobile and pc

just try to clan the connector port (bronze part), clean it with eraser and wife it clean. Not 100% solution, but no harm on trying.

If still not working then I suggest get a new one, your memory card might be corrupted

My phone doesn't recognise my sd card

An 8GB micro SD card will actually be a micro SDHC card. Older SD devices care incompatible at the basic hardware level with the SDHC specification: they can only use standard SD variants. In theory that means a micro SD up to 4GB but in practice I've found very few pre-SDHC devices which will reliably handle more than 2GB SD cards without a firmware update.

I hope that this answers your question and ask in return only that you take a moment to rate my answer.

If it hasn't, then please add a comment with the exact make and model of the older phone and also of the 8GB micro-SD card and I'll investigate further before posting a reply for you.

Micro card

When I bought the phone I wanted to use a bigger Memory card. I was told it will only recognize 2gb. The booklet that comes with phone says the same thing, so would assume that is why it says full. Assuming of course youre trying to use more than 2gb at the moment.

I880 memory card

You can not use a 4gb on the iden i880 phone. The most you can use is 2gm that should be enough memory unless you want a lot of stuff on the crad you wont even use that much. The 4gb are the HC which is high capacity and the phone will not read it. Just buy 2 2gb memory cards and you decide what info you want on each or get a different phone...
