No water coming into the start cycle of kenmore 16309. I've checked continuity at the solenoid (.96) and voltage coming in (56?) and filter screen looks clear. What next?

Hello John,
The voltage coming to the valve is only 56???
it should be 110-120 and not 56,with only 56 i would be checking for a broken/bad float switch and or pinched/broken wire to the valve
if all above checks good look at the control and see why only 50% of the necessary power is at the valve.

Kenmore washer won't Fill on Cold or Warm water settings.

There might be an issue with the house water supply for the washing machine that needs to be repaired or replaced or the hose could be clogged or needs to be replaced.

My wash machine does not let water in

A solenoid valve is used to allow water to enter the machine at different times of the cycle. The home's shut off valves above the hoses must be on.

The water may not flow if the hose is clogged, the filter at the input to the washer is clogged, the solenoid has failed, electronic control for the solenoid has failed, or a door switch - or other sensor - has failed.

Shut the water valve off and remove the hoses from the washer - note which is hot and cold. Direct the hoses into the wash tub of the washer. Open the shut off valve briefly. Water should come out of both of the hoses at about the same rate. If not disconnect hose from the valve for cleaning or replacement. Then check the hose connection on the washer - remove and clean or replace any filter found. Once cleared or replaced - reconnect hot to hot and cold to cold and try filling again. If still not working, you'll need to check for operating voltage at the solenoid when it should be open. If voltage present and not letting water in - replace the solenoid. If voltage not present - it could be a sensor, control, etc.

These appliances operate at deadly voltages. Please, do not attempt if you're not sure how to perform the work, use the tools and meters or know what you're doing. Good luck!

Ice maker stopped working. jumped it and it cycles thru but no wa

First, I'm not a Whirlpool Tech. You should have a qualified tech check and service your equipment. (Lots of water and high voltages present.)
*** The following is for information only.***
* Check if Ice full sensor. May be stuck in 'Full' position.
* Check BOTH water fill solenoid and filter (on solenoid) for debris.
* Check water flow; Source, Water filter In, Water filter out, Solenoid inlet screen, Solenoid outlet.
* Check water fill tube for kinks, cracked, or disconnected
* Final, be safe and call your vendor for service.

Kenmore washer model #110.28882790 is very slow to fill with water. We've checked and cleaned the hose filters. Is there some kind of water sensor? Or hidden filters?

Remove the water line from the INLET valve and start the machine , if there is no proper flow of water then the inlet vavle is not working to open , the filter on the vavle is clogged or the inlet filter is blocked. Also check the voltage on the inlet valve to make sure that the controller unit is outputting correct voltage.
If not replace filter , valve to ensure that the drum get best flow for filling.

Clicks on the cycle, has power, but no sign of water. It is 5 yrs. old

One click is the timer telling the intake solenoid to open and allow water in. There is another you should hear from the solenoid opening.

The timer click will be on the control panel at the timer the solenoid will come from under the unit.

Water comes in under city pressure and is not pumped in. The solenoid simply opens allowing the water flow.

If you do not hear a click from under the unit remove it from under the counter. When the timer clicks to start the wash cycle there should be power across the terminals on the solenoid. The solenoid is located where the water supply line connects. Test for voltage. If you have voltage replace the solenoid.

If you do not have voltage the timer is faulty.

Hope this helps. Please rate this answer for me.

No water on rinse cycle timer stays on rinse all other cycles work

Check for a cold water supply problem, since it's cold water that is used in the rinse cycle. Unplug the machine, shut off the water, and remove the water supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the water inlet valve openings. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Pay particular attention to the cold water side. The solenoids can be tested using an ohmmeter or multimeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid. I will attach a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Washer has been working fine for sevral years.I started a load when it went into rinse cycle it stopped and will not run at all. this is a Kenmore extra large capacity model no. 110.14102300

If no water entered the machine at the rinse cycle, then I would check for a cold water supply problem, since cold water is what is used in the rinse. Check the water inlet valve. Remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens inside the water inlet valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Pay particular attention to the cold water side. Next, check the solenoids at the water inlet valve. They can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a bad solenoid. I will attach a photo for reference. Check this and if you need additional assistance let me know. I am working with limited info. For instance, can you advance the cycle manually and make the machine operate? Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Washer will not fill with cold water, only hot

Check your inlet screens where the water hose attaches to the washer. It is just like a hose washer, but with a cone shape screen in the center.

Otherwise, you will need to check the cold water solenoid valve, if it is getting the voltage signal to flow water, or if the the solenoid coil has continuity by checking with an ohm meter.

If you are not getting voltage, then deeper tracing must be pursued.
