Hi,
Try to put back the old procie, if it runs again that means the new procie is not compatible with board.
Read the manual for the compatibilty issue for your MoBo.
Tell me if it works.

I have asus m2n 68 se2 motherboard and amd processor.when i press the power button ,the cpu fan just run then off. .cmos cleared

Before anything you should suspect the power supply. It may be able to start the board for a second, but doesn't have the oomph to keep it running.

How to remove restricted access

Reset the CMOS (BIOS memory).
You do that and it will remove and BIOS passwords.

It will tell how to "clear CMOS" in the motherboard manual.
Or you can try unplugging the computer, and removing the little CMOS button cell battery for a few minutes.
Note if you do clear it, you'll probably have to set a few BIOS settings from the defaults.

Boot up problems on an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard

Try reseating the power cable to your HDD and also the data cable to and from your motherboard. If no joy - then it sounds to me like a power supply unit failure

M2N-SLI Motherboard issue.

Hi

If your computer was ok before you changed parameters in Bios then it is Bios fault:
Re inter Bios and Try to reset it to default.
If you can not get into Bios anymore  the problem is serious:
You must reflash Bios or reset Cmos ,and it could be vga or may be the wifi if you have one onboard.
see if you have a hardware store nearby and let someone fix it
if you .
It seems to be a common problem on all Asus Motherboards:
bios,vga,post etc...

ASUS M2N-E SLi Motherboard No Graphics

I have the same board (M2N-SLI) with a BFG 9800 GTX with no video either. I have the card in the black slot and I have 2 mem sticks in the yellow. Shouldn't make a difference if I'm using a monitor not an LCD right? Everything spins up for me too, hard drive, vid card has power, CPU fan is on, post (green) light is on.

Asus m2n-e sli locks up at bios post splash screen

Sounds like a bios issue. Try resetting the bios, pg. 2-19 in user manual. After clearing the bios jumper, make sure you set it back to pins 1 & 2. If you still can not get into the bios main menu than head to Asus, click this link.
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=M2N-E%20SLI&SLanguage=en-us
Since this is a new board & all Asus boards are warranted for three years I suggest you talk with an Asus tech. If you flash you're bios during the warranty period you may void the warranty. You can call Asus M-F, EST 8:00AM-5: PM.
1-812-282-2787. Not sure you have this number in you're manual. Chances are Asus will send you a new bios. Or you can buy a new bios for $5.00 not including S/H. From Asus online store. Click on this link. http://estore.asus.com/shop/

If I can be of more service, just post back & let me know how thing go.

BIOS 1004 cpu not support

I got it :-)

Damn Asus , it was a hard session ;-)

1. Make an ISO from your original Asus CD denn insert (with isobuster or something) the Bios Firmware 1004 in the main Dir name the file M2N-MX.ROM

2.Burn a Second disc with the 0804 Bios ROM also rename the 0804 Rom to M2N-MX.ROM

3. Go to EZ FLASH with ALT + F2 and then insert the 1004 CD wait till Erasing is ready Then Turn OFF your PC :-) so you crashed the bios thats what you need to run the embeded CrashFRee Tool

4 After you turn your PC on insert the 0804 CD then it flashes the this Rom and we are Happy :-)

Asus m2n-e sli Cpu changed settings on boots up

I could not find BIOS ver. 1302 for the M2N-E Mb. What I do know: Your dual core 4200 showing up as "unknown". Asus says:
This is because the BIOS does not have the relative CPU uCode to support this processor. Please simply update your BIOS to version 0902 or later to resolve this problem.
BIOS 0902 can be downloaded from the link below:
http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socketAM2/M2N-E%20SLI/0902.zip

Once you cpu shows up correctly, chances are that your over clocking will work and the bios will stop sending you back to change your settings.
