Hi Kathy.

If the washer does not agitate and spin, then the most common problem is the belt: Washer Drive V-Belt (part 28 in diagram 1)

If you can manually advance to spin but the machine does not agitate, then parts that may need to be replaced are the agitator:
Agitator (part 11 in diag 1) or the agitator drive in the transmission:Agitator Drive (pt.2 diagram 2)

To replace the belt remove the assembly at front top of the washer held by two philips screws and clips. Here description of replacement procedure.

Here Diagram 1

Here Diagram 2

Regards.

I have a FEX831FS4 that will not agitate, however, it will drain and spin. Where should I start the diagnosis process?

Start right here:

This will give you a good idea of what you are looking at and where it is located as-well-as the expected costs of parts. Keep in mind though eBay is now a great place to get parts. Often for way cheaper than a parts outlet will charge.
It's kind of unusual for a machine to just lose agitation, unless it has a clutch or maybe agitating dogs; however, this unit has neither that i see and i must confess i've never worked on one. It's possible #2 on the transmission diagram is worn. Does the agitator spin? It may turn a little, but should not spin around like there is nothing holding it. If it does it is either the agitator or the part it connects to (# 2) or an associated part. Removing agitators can sometimes be a pain. Warming an agitator up with a hair dryer can make all the difference in the world when something seems stuck.
Good Luck.

Frigidaire FWT647GHSO when it gets to rinse first rinse cycle, it doesn't stop filling with water. It won't agitate or spin. It works well in the wash cycle, agitates and spins and advances

probably you've got something blocking the water pump from doing its job properly so check that the water pump is free running emptying all the water if not then there is a blockage in the pump normally ist a button, paper clip or other debris out of a trouser pocket eric

Dryer hot but not drying quickly.

Sounds like you have a clogged vent. Hopefully you've gotten this repaired.

Hello, I have just purchased a frigidaire gallery series stackable combo 2004 model glet1142cso after hooking it up i am having problems. It won't fill unless dryer door is open..won't spin out...

Probably an auto tec installed the recepticle on the wall or in the electric pannel. in home electric the black wire and the red wires are hot. In automobiles the black is ground. You should have 240 volts between the two flat connectors on the plug when its pluged into the recepticle.

I have a frigidaire stackable washer/dryer model number FEx831cs0. The washer is working just find but the dryer for a few weeks has been making the worst screeching sounding in the world. I am not sure if...

A loose belt often makes a squeak that pulsates with the clothes hitting the paddles in the drum. It's probably the upper drum glide or rear bearing. If it's a constant screech coming from the front, it's probably the glide. If the noise seems to be in the back, suspect the bearing. You might check for a sock or something small that is stuck somewhere between the drum and the dryer.

Glide: http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Drum-Slide-or-Glide/916658?modelNumber=FEX831CS0

Bearing kit: http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Drum-Bearing-Kit/1851?modelNumber=FEX831CS0

Neither are very difficult to repair.
