How do you clean the drain filter

Water backs up in the washer before the spin cycle. When there's a heavy load, the spin cycle starts with a large bag. The the door comes ajar then water leaks everywhere. Seems like if the filter is clogged, then the load won't be so heavy causing the door to come ajar..etc...suggestions?

The door should be locked closed when a cycle begins.. That may be part of the problem.. however here is a link to the service manual for you to examine Note that page 7 shows the whereabouts of the filter,..Page 10 shows how to test the door locking system as well as drum fwd and reverse rotation...and how to drain the remaining water in the tub with the hose... http://136.166.4.200/contents/Laundry/WM2688/WM2688_Service_Manual.pdf

If you have never cleaned the filter then there is a good chace it is blocked up and water cannot drain in the normal manner so I would examine and address that first. If I've helped you resolve your problem, please input the appropriate rating .. Good Luck...

Final spin cycle I get sud error code or f2, water mostly drained but no spin. When I restart the spin cycle just starts to spin then stops, sounds like it drains some more water then makes a small...

Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is

running. • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects • If the above does not correct the problem replace the pump

The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If "Sud" is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.

Washer stopped during spin cycle

Hello, try to checked the pump filter, and the pump is actually working. then I would suspect a draining problem.
If filter clean and pump works fine then it could be a control module fault. if this were the case, then it would probably be wiser to purchase a new washer.
Thanks

GE front load washer will not complete the rinse & spin cycle

1) 1st check the filter under the machine (it unscrews behind the access panel 2) open front door and pull back the rubber membrane to see metal and clean out the debris blocking drain holes 3) remove the drain hose from the machine (spring clip) and try and run water thru it and keep blowing out the junk and re-attach 4) run the machine thru 2 cleaning cycles w/bleach and without bleach 5) start using less detergent

Does washer drain before the spin cycle starts?

Normally yes. There are around 12 to 20 gallons of water in the tub after the wash cycle, which will be anywhere from 63 to 110 pounds of weight in addition to the weight of the clothes. For the machine to start the spin cycle to remove this water would place a heavy load on the motor, gearcase, pullys, belts, gears, ect. With the water drained, the load is lighter, and much easier to start spinning the excess water out of the clothes. The normal cycles are: Fill, Agitate, Drain, Spin, Rinse Fill, Agitate for rinse, Drain, Spin Cycle and off. Imagine trying to spin a 5 gallon bucket of water over your head, full of water, and then empty. Which one do you think would be easier to do? And safer for you.

Water is in the drum after a complete washing cycle, you can't see the water but you can here it slushing around and leaves a foul order when not used for several days.

Make sure that the outlet hose is not blocked and the filter is clear.

If this is OK then the following from Maytag may be helpful. If not call a repair man for service.

Is the Delicate or Hand Wash cycle selected?
Spin speeds can vary by the cycle that is selected. Your washer is designed so that in certain cycles, such as the Delicate or Hand Wash cycles, the spin speeds are slower. In these cycles, more water is retained in the load at the end of the cycle to protect the delicate fabrics from shrinking and wrinkling. Select the appropriate cycle based on the fabric being washed.
Was Max Extract selected?
Ideal for heavy loads such as towels and bedding, Max Extract removes more water from loads during spin.

Were you washing one bulky item, such as a rug or large blanket?
Consider adding more items to help balance the load during spin. Select Drain/Spin or Spin Only cycle and restart the washer. Your washer is designed to detect an unbalanced load and automatically lower the spin speed. Unbalanced conditions are more likely to occur with a single, bulky item.
Are excessive suds present?
Use only HE High Efficiency detergent. Using non-HE detergent or more than the manufacturer's recommended amount of detergent can cause excessive suds. The excess suds can cause the washer to run at a reduced spin speed, which will result in very wet loads.
See also: Why HE High Efficiency detergent is required

Is the drain hose kinked or is the drain clogged?
Make sure the drain hose is not kinked. Straighten the hose for adequate water flow. Remove any blockage from the drainpipe or utility sink. Use the U-shaped drain hose form or hose retainer on the drain hose, and secure the drain hose. See the Installation Instructions for details.

Is the end of the drain hose more than 96" (244 cm) above the floor?
The drainpipe (standpipe) height requirements are: 96" (244 cm) maximum and 30" (76.2 cm) minimum. Your washer will not be able to adequately pump the water out of the washer if the drainpipe (standpipe) exceeds 96" (244 cm). In this case, the water may flow back into the washer. See the Installation Instructions for details; find them by entering your model number in the Manuals and Literature search below.

Is your outlet voltage low?
Check the electrical source or call an electrician.

Washing machine stops mid cycle and lights start flashing

Drain the water by lowering the hose into a bucket or something and then try it on spin, if it spins o/k then you probably have blocked pump or filter.
The filter is located in the large black hose that is fastened to the bottom of the drum, remove and clean.
Hopefully this will solve the problem.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.

Washer won't rinse and spin

clean the drain hose, but make sure you have a container to catch the water and lot of debris will come out. Then unplug the washer and put water on spin cycle to drain water, after draining water remove the pump filter located next to the drain hose turn left to open and clean more debris. I found my husband wedding band I thought he lost it on purpose. You will be surprise how much funk is in that filter. Turn pump filter to right to close and put cap back on hose. Don't call the repair guy. Hope this helped.

Whirlpool Front Loader will not drain or spin

Based upon your description, the drain pump has either failed or become clogged.
To check the pump, remove the bottom access panel (three screws along the bottom). There you will find access to the pump clean-out.(Large,white screw cap) BE READY TO CATCH LOTS OF WATER. CAREFULLY AND S_L_O_W_L_Y unscrew the pump clean-out, catching and discarding the water. When the water flow finally stops, completely remove the clean-out filter. Inspect the clean-out filter, the drain hose from the tub as well as inside the pump impeller for any additional debris
