When you change your setting to nam 2 how do you unlock your phone

Go to the keypad, type #43574357* (this number should work) and select system info, and it will display your nam2 phone number on the first (top) row labeled "MDN." The last four numbers is your passcode. This solution ONLY works if you've accidentally set your phone to NAM2 (which means that you've reprogrammed your phone to a completely different phone number, and if you've set up a passcode, that too is changed). Once you've found out your new number and passcode, you are not yet finished, because your phone is still programmed to NAM2. To fix that, you must go to your "Phone settings" and find "NAM select." Then you select NAM1 (and your phone will restart again and prompt you with your OLD passcode, if you set up one). Your phone is now fully functioning again!

My brother HIT NAM2 on my samsung flipphone and now i cant get into it

NAM Cards are which number a cell phone uses as its number. Most cell services only provide you with one number per phone which is likely to be NAM1 in your case.
Just switch it back to NAM1 and you should be good.
If you can't figure out how to get to the settings and choose NAM1, then provide the exact model of your phone and I can help you with more details.

I have a samsung reality. i was fooling around with the settings & set it to NAM2. it's now locked i need a 4 digit code. i've tried all the online suggestions nothing works. i've been up for 4 hours...

Using the default "last four digits" unlock code will not work because switching to NAM2 changes your phone number, and hence changes the default unlock code. You have to find out your new phone number (and new unlock code) under NAM2. Do this:

  • Get to the dialer screen.
  • Dial #43574357* (#helphelp*)
  • Tap "1. system info"
  • The top two entries, MIN and MDN are your new number. Usually they are invalid phone numbers (000-000-????) but the last four digits are your unlock code. Write them down or remember them.
  • Get back to the unlock screen, type in the code.
  • Go directly into the menu and change back to NAM1
  • Don't do that again. :)

Switched to NAM2 and do not know the lock code.

Dial *22899 and press SEND to program the phone.
after it has finished downloading the programming information, the phone will reset.
The Lock code will now be set to the last 4 digits of your phone number.
when you have finished, be sure to switch back to NAM1 and dial *22899 again to re-program it.

Not start mobile

Contact your service provider, they have to set your phone up with Nam1 and Nam2 and reset it with the towers. Best of luck!

Network busy/error 2048

I had the same problem with my old phone the Samsung A660. After 45 minutes on phone with Bell Mobility tech support (which did nothing to cure the problem) I fiddled around with the settings abit, and found there is a setting for something called NAM1 and NAM2. I changed it to NAM1 and I was able to access the browser again! I'm not sure though if the U740 has this NAM1 and NAM2 setting. This what to did for the A660:

  • Press MENU
  • Scroll to (7) SETTINGS, Press OK
  • Scroll to (8) OTHERS, Press OK
  • Scroll to (5) SET NAM
  • Press OK

    Options:
    NAM 1
    NAM 2
  • Scroll to option, Press OK to set
