I just bought a second hand Kurzweil SP3X. Everything worked fine and then I lost all audio ouput. I could change settings, go into global, adjust the follow on the layers, hit the panic button reset, but nothing changed. If I restart the keyboard, everything works fine and then I will be playing along and I will a very slight pop in the system and then all the outputs go dead, including the headphones.
I took it to a reputable and authorized repair center. They updated the OS, called Kurzweil and thought they had solved the problem. But upon getting it back home, the problem persisted.
Any ideas?

If you';re sure it's the instrument, rather than your amp cutting out or the cord being intermittent, do a factory reset. Beyond doing a reset, it's doubtfull this will be a user servicable problem. You need to contact Kurzweil Support. Here is a link to their page Support Kurzweil

Other than that, always use it in stereo mode with a decent sound system. Always use speakers with at least a 15" woofer and a horn to get the full range of sound it's capable of.

Is this the correct sustain pedal for this unit? It sounds like it should be a momentary button type. I would look into that. Some have a push to work type of switch and some use momentary. If it is, I would open that pedal and clean the switch with contact cleaner, as it appears to be sticking.
It sounds like the new board and firmware has gone to abbreviations instead of fully spelling it out.
I would complain to the store since they should warrant it if it is a problem... but be prepared to accept that the firmware has been changed and displays differently now.
Probably a cable has come loose inside the unit. The keys are scanned by the internal processor as a matrix of two contacts per key. Often the keyboard is divided into two sections.
You will need to have it repaired or if you are electronically adept, open the case and look for obvious problem.
