SOURCE: Dispenser still full of water and fabric softener

hiya
this could be caused by a faulty cold inlet valve if the detergent is not being taken away. however if the detergent iis being taken away then the valve is working ok as it fills the compartment with water lifting the detergent out and into the washing machine.

hope this helps

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite fabric softener won't drain

Is the dispenser full? It could be that it is a bit clogged. I would try just pouring a little very hot water in for several loads and using dryer softener sheets during this time. Let's see if we can unclog it .

SOURCE: Fabric softener stays in drawre

We just had a tech come out to fix this problem for us. Essentially, the problem is that the fabric softener builds up and gets clogged. He cleaned out a solid hunk of frabric softener gunk, and suggested that we dilute our fabric softener with water to keep this buildup from happening again.

SOURCE: Fabric softener not draining

Remove the dispenser drawer by pushing down on the tab at the center back and pulling drawer out. Now, remove the top of the fabric softener compartment and the parts of the soap dispenser and clean them all out. An old toothbrush often helps. Reassemble and replace. They should siphon out now.

Why does the fabric softener compartment fill with water that won't drain

When the fabric softener dries out it cakes up, the water left over stops the clogging. Leave the dispenser door open a little when not in use to prevent black mold buildup from the moisture.

Bleach and Fabric Softner Dispenser

Hi
This is a result of the siphoning action and is part of the normal operation of the washer. Water
may be removed by removing the dispenser drawer and draining
water into the empty drum or sink.

Outside
• When washing is completed, wipe top and sides of washer with a damp cloth. Turn water
faucets off to prevent pressure build-up in the hoses.
• As needed, clean the cabinet with mild soap and water. Never use harsh, gritty or
abrasive cleansers. If door or console becomes stained, clean with diluted chlorine bleach
[1/2 cup (120 ml) in 1 quart (.95 L) water]. Rinse several times with clear water.
• Remove glue residue from tape or labels with a mixture of warm water and mild detergent.
Or, touch residue with the sticky side of the tape or label.
• Before moving the washer, place a strip of cardboard or thin fiberboard under the front
leveling legs to prevent floor damage.
Cleaning the Dispenser Drawer Area
Detergent and fabric softener may build up in the dispenser drawer. Residue should be removed
once or twice a month.
• Remove the drawer by pulling the drawer out until it stops. (Figure 1)
• Reach back into the left rear corner of the drawer cavity and press down firmly on the lock
tab (left rear portion of the drawer). Pull out the drawer. (Figure 2)
• Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softener compartments. (Figure 3)
• Rinse the drawer and inserts with hot tap water to remove traces of accumulated powders
and liquids. Large amounts of fabric softener residue may indicate improper dilution or
more frequent cleaning is required.
• To clean the drawer opening, use a small brush to clean the recess. Remove all residue
from the upper and lower parts of the recess. (Figure 4)
• Replace the insert pressing the "X" to lock it in place. Return the dispenser drawer.
Inside
• Remove items from the washer as soon as the cycle ends. Excess wrinkling, color transfer,
and odors may develop in items left in the washer.
• Before cleaning the washer interior, unplug the electrical power cord to avoid electrical
shock hazards.
• Dry around the washer door opening, flexible gasket, and door glass. These areas should
always be clean to ensure a water tight seal.
• When extremely soiled items have been washed, a dirty residue may remain on the drum.
Remove this by wiping the drum with a nonabrasive household cleanser. Rinse thoroughly
with water.
• Periodically, wipe dry the bottom of the flexible gasket to remove lint and other debris.
• The plastic drum vanes may become stained from fabric dye. Clean these parts with a
nonabrasive household cleanser. This prevents dye transfer to future loads.

How do you get mildew out of the inside lip of the frigidaire affinity?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you are trying to get mildew out of the inside lip of your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# ATF6000ES. I suggest following the cleaning suggestions I've listed below.

Clean the Dispenser Drawer Area. Detergent and fabric softener may build up in the dispenser drawer. Residue should be removed once or twice a month.

1)Remove the drawer by pulling the drawer out until it stops.

2)Reach back into the left rear corner of the drawer cavity and press down firmly on the lock tab (left rear portion of the drawer). Pull out the drawer.

3)Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softener compartments.

4)Rinse the drawer and inserts with hot tap water to remove traces of accumulated powders and liquids. Large amounts of fabric softener residue may indicate improper dilution or more frequent cleaning is required.

5)To clean the drawer opening, use a small brush to clean the recess. Remove all residues from the upper and lower parts of the recess.

6)Replace the insert pressing the "X" to lock it in place. Return the dispenser drawer.

    Clean Inside the Drum

1)Remove items from your washer as soon as the cycle ends. Excess wrinkling, color transfer, and odors may develop in items left in your washer.

      2) Before cleaning your washer interior, unplug the electrical power cord to avoid electrical shock hazards.

3)Dry around your washer door opening, flexible gasket, and door glass. These areas should always be clean to ensure a water tight seal.

4)When extremely soiled items have been washed, a dirty residue may remain on the drum. Remove this by wiping the drum with a nonabrasive household cleanser. Rinse thoroughly with water.

5)Periodically, wipe dry the bottom of the flexible gasket to remove lint and other debris.

6)The plastic drum vanes may become stained from fabric dye. Clean these parts with a nonabrasive household cleanser. This prevents dye transfer to future loads.

Another thing you may do after a thorough cleaning is run a Heavy Duty cycle, and change the temperatures to the hottest temperatures. Also, change the soil level to Heavy Soil. You will want to run a full cycle with no clothes in it and add bleach and your detergent. Once the cycle has completed, Wipe down the inside of the tub as well as the inside lip of your washer. Leave the door open so any other water that might be inside of your appliance can evaporate. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

      -Best Regards-

Kenmore front load washer will not dispense fabric softner

I've had this same problem and solved it by removing the detergent/bleach/softener dispenser drawer from the machine and seriously cleaning out all of the "gunk" from the drawer and from inside the drawer area on washer. Sometimes I have had to repeat the cleaning and then the fabric softener begins dispensing again. I have model # 417.43042200 but it may work on all the Kenmore front loading washers.

Fabric softner build up in recepticle, and black mold forming

The build up is always going to be there as long as your using softener. The way to beat this is 1.add the softener directly into the tub before last rinse.2.Dillute it with water.3.Stop using softener and this cant ever occur./// The fabric softeners brand may make a difference, try another brand .If its watered down its less sticky.

Automatic fabric softener dispensor not emptying

The detergent dispenser is located above the detergent drawer. A water pipe is connected to it and water entrance and distributed to drawer's cells (following the programmed cycle)by a lever's movement (part of the dispenser). The lever movement is controlled by two solenoids that received their power from the timer. By opening upper machine's cover you will have an access to the dispenser. Disconnect the power cable from the machine before moving to next test !!!! Look first that they are not any disconnected wires. Move manually dispenser's lever and see if water running to all cells (depend on your movement). In case it doesn't work properly remove the unit from the machine and try to clean it (I hope it will help, otherwise you should replace the unit). In case it works properly (manually) - you should test by a multi-tester solenoid's resistance. the one that doesn't have a resistance measurement should be replaced. Good luck !!
