LOL, just when you need it to work those wireless mouse and keyboards always fail you. I never understood the concept of why have a wireless mouse or keyboard because you have to be sitting right there at the computer to use them. Therefore why not use a dependable wired device?
Maybe the mouse needs replacing or somewhere in the mouse properties you have the pointer locked.
prior mouses were cable connection required to acheive functionalities. For example, the mouse had to be connedted to the computer by the cable connection, and a software prorgam installed to attain functions. Recent computer mouses are wireless operate. For example, the mouse only requires batteries in to device, and a separate device connected to the computer called a wireless mouse adapter. Usually the wireless mouse should capture the network devices signals least requiring a program installed. Observe the mouse to ascertain that is cabled or wireless networked.
batteries new? usb cvable plugged in the computer? have tou tried to connecrt the mouse to the receiver as well? there is usually a button on the mouse and the receiver to connect the 2 together, press the one on the receiver first, then the one on the mouse.
There should be a connect button on both the mouse and the receiver. Press the connect button on the receiver, then on the mouse. Sometimes you have to use a paper clip or a pen to push this button. This synchronizes the radio frequency being used.
