Tv making and have clicking sounds as tv shutdown as lights flashes?Yes.The board that call the Ballast board might be dying and dead soon. This Ballast board job responsible only are to ingnite the tv projection lamp only.
Sounds like you have a bad picture tube. More than likely the CRT could be shorted, which would cause the set to shut down. My first advise would be to power up the set with an isolation transformer with the voltage about 60% approx. 72 Volts AC, and monitor what happens when you increase the voltage slowly. If the set remains on at 60 -70 %, then when increased to 90 - 100% it shuts down, you have something drawing too much current ( which could be the CRT )
The lamp cover door was not secured tightly. Door does not "push" shut easily. Got a little rough with it and latched it shut, then the tv worked fine.
a tv has two components, firstly a power supply produces high voltage to trigger a line transformer, in turn a transformer produces smaller voltages. firstly check if the ht is constantly been produced from a supply, if this is there than go to a line transformer, and check voltages at the output.
