That problem is usually cause of bad capacitors on the power supply section..
As you stated your TV works fine and after a minute the red light comes on...
That
symptoms is cause of bad capacitors..Normally bad capacitors can check
visually if the capacitors look like leak/bulged on the top that is the
indication of bad one but not all bad capacitors are bulged some are not
so in that case you have to used a special meter called capacitance
meter..

You can check electrolytic, caps, with the old style multimeter, the swing of the needle tells you a lot, but it can take years, to interpret the needles action!!!!!!!! I have checked caps for years like this.
Having similar probs with Topfield Digi box, yes its the power supply, at least 10 caps want changing. This is usually the case with TV's etc, the power supply is the first to go!!!!!!!!
