Maytag performa dryer pye/g2200

Dryer does not dry as fast as it used to. Turns on and gets warm. But takes two cycles now to do the same amount of cloths. Does a heating element go slowly bad?

I have the same problem.  I have already cleaned the venting and that didn't make much of a difference.  I am drying a load for at least 2 hours.  Sometimes more.

Hi, my Maytag Perfoma PYE/G200 doesn't dry the clothes in one cycle. It usually takes 2 cycles to get damp dry. Also, the dryer sometimes won't start unless it has been sitting for 10 or 15 minutes and...

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

My Maytag Performa dryer is taking 2 and sometimes 3 cycles to dry clothes. Suggestions as to why?

Most of the time the dryer blower wheel part number 53-0106 gets loose and and cause this problem. I fixed one just the other day.

Maytag Performa PYE G2200 gas dryer, the dryer seems to turn on but the drum will not turn.

Based on the information provided, it sounds like a broken drum belt is at fault. Below is an illustration of the drum belt.

Here is a parts/disassembly diagram:

Here is a belt installation diagram:
Dryers have a drive belt that turns the clothes drum. If the belt breaks, the drum stops rotating. Then you need to replace the belt, and often the idler pulley, because the pulley tends to wear out at the same time.

Have maytag performa takes 2 too 3 dry cycles to get clothes dry

if the unit heats and turns the problem you have is in the duct , kink behind the unit or a clog of lint in the duct on its way outside.

Dryer not heating as it should. Gets warm, but takes several cycles to dry clothes

Could be 2 things... either your heat source is out of repair or your vent is blocked. Since you say it only gets warm I'll assume the problem is with the gas coils inside the unit. These parts are replaceable

My maytag performa gas dryer model # pyg2300aww gets warm but takes four cycles to dry.

clean your dryer vent going from the back of the dryer to outside also run a lint brush down where you put the lint screen in if this does not help replace your coils

Maytag performa model#pyg2300aww takes four cycles to dry

how long is dryer vent run ? does it go up or out to the side ? Sounds like the dryer vent is clogged. A long run on your vent will also cause this problem with a small amount of lint. Try cleaning out your lint screen on the dryer vent they can get pretty caked up with lint. If you have a long dryer vent run post back the length and direction and I will get you the maximum length for your specific run. You may need a booster fan if it is excessively long or straight up as through the roof.

No heat from dryer.

Do not buy or use a maytag performa dryer model number pye2300ay at all. I fyou have one unplug it and take to the landfill or scrap yard. They are complete junk and nothing but a hassle. One problem after the other on this model no matter what you do. they are complete trash and a waste of your money.
