Maytag MGD 9700SQ. When I press start, the sensoring light clicks on and that's it. I've cleaned out the lint, cleaned the sensors with alcohol. Will clean the vent, but it seems like a basic fix. No codes are flashing, just sensor light with one click. I've got a moldering load of clothes, since I've been trying to keep from having pay big bucks that I don't have...

Hi Jamie: After checking all of this and if it still dont work you will need to put in a new control board.

Plug cord into live electrical outlet. Check for proper voltage.
Check fuse or reset circuit breaker.
Push any key to turn ON the clothes washer and press the Rotary Cycle Selector knob to start the clothes washer.
Close door and push the Rotary Cycle Selector knob to start the clothes washer.
Check to see if the clothes washer is in a pause, soak or suds period in the cycle. Wait briefly and it may start. If washer is in suds period, SU and DS will display alternately, instead of the time remaining.
Check for restricted drain system. If there is an electrical problem in the drain system, ND error will occur after 15 minutes.
Check water supply.
Check the line screen and water valve screen.
Check for loose connections at machine control board terminal connections
Replace machine control board.

In this link, with your model could find parts replacement:

ZJ, sorry if you're getting multiples. I'm still not sure how this works. Anyway, I guess I didn't specify my problem is with the MGD 9700 SQ DRYER. All lights work, but when I push "start" the sensor light lights up with one click...then nothing. You gave me WASHER guidelines- did I ask the wrong person? If so, I need a refund so I can ask someone else who knows DRYERS. Thank You.

I put my filter tray in backward on my Maytag electric dryer and can't get it out. It is really stuck.

It must be catching on the lint spring door. Try to get something skinny to insert on the backside of the filter to push the lint spring door down then remove the filter.

Always air filter clean

If the light comes on after it\'s started its cycle, that sounds like your dryer actually has a sensor in it (my dryer just has a fake light to remind you to clean the filter, but there\'s no sensor).

Either there\'s debris accumulated inside that\'s blocked the sensor (it\'s working correctly), or the sensor itself has failed (part repair).

It\'s possible your filter itself isn\'t letting enough air pass through any more. Do a quick test: run the dryer with the filter out and see if the light still comes on.

If the light still comes on, see if you can remove some lint from the dryer. Remove the filter and get a vacuum nozzle in as far as you can to try to suck out any lint that got past the filter.

Also check the exhaust. How recently was your dryer duct cleaned? Could it be clogged? Disconnect the exhaust from the wall and inspect the pipe. If you see a *lot* of lint and dust it should probably be cleaned. It\'s not expensive - call a duct cleaning company and ask them to clean your dryer duct and nothing else. No addons, no extended service plan, nothing - just clean the duct.

By now you\'ve checked the air going in and the air going out. If it still continues this behaviour I would look at the sensor itself. It\'s almost certainly cheaper in the long run to call in a repair person for that.

Matag dryer not heating

Here is a link to maytag dryer repairs http://apcoappliancerepair.wordpress.com/?s=maytag+dryer . The most common problem is the thermal fuse. My question is. Does the heating element start to light. If not...... and you have changed the ignitor and thermal fuse. Then check the flame sensor to see if there is continuity threw it. Power to the gas coils and ignitor runs threw the flame sensor. CLICK HERE to see a flame sensor on a GE dryer. They are the same on most units but Maytag will be on the opposite side of burner chamber.

Its normal for the machine to cycle the lock before starting its cycle. I'm assuming your machine is a bravos style.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with the first thing you should do is to remove the lint filter and clean the lint out of inside where the lint screen goes. After this unplug the unit for 5-10 minutes and then push & hold the start/pause button for 10-15 seconds and reconnect the unit. If still it won’t work then it’s the sensor that has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Dryer not heating up when it's on. All the buttons seem to be working on the panel and it still runs.

First clean the entire venting system to the exhuast duct work. A moister sensor detects any build up of lint and keeps the heat (burner) in check. If at is all cleaned and still no heat listen for the spark ignitor to click upon starting. If not heard the ignitor is at fault. If it di=oes click the moister sensor is at fault then

Tumbler turns, but no heat. gas line is open and looks good... what might be the problem?

Upon starting the dryer you should hear the clicking noise of the spark ignitor. If heard that is fine. Next remove all exhaust vent tubing and clean out thoroughly. The moister sensor detects any lint build up and will put the heat burner into a check mode untill the lint build up is removed. It was designed to prevent fires to start. If cleaned and still does not produce any heat replace that moister sensor

Bosch dryer lint sensor light comes on; at start up and wont start cycle with the push of the start button. Cleaned entire dryer still have an error code when turned on and dryer still won?t start. Q,...

Well the 2 sensors located in the front sheild. One is a hi limit which has 2 seperate wires is a one time blow fuse type rated at 194F. The other is an actual sensor with a 10K rating at 77F. There is another sensor located on the front of the heater housing which has the same 10k at 77F. These 2 sensors measure air flow. After reassembly try unplugging to reset control.
