Large yellow stain / tint / spot when showing bright or white background

So, I just noticed a large yelowish stain in the center and a little over to the right area on my LCD. I is noticeable when running white or very bright pictures. I was able to notice when using it as a computer monitor. because my windows background is white, I was able to see it. Now, of course, I will never be able to ignore it. My TV is 3 years old. Not a heavy user. Technical support in Brazil isn't very specialized. They would probably replace the LCD panel but that would make it not worth, and I'm not sure that is the problem. Have anybody had a similar issue? Thanks!

The problem is called pixel re-stain, it usually happens on some old LCD panels, in your case, the TV is not worth to fix.

SOURCE: YELOWISH TINT ON SCREEN. TRIED TO ADJUST COLOR.

Your Optical block aka Light engine is going out on you. I do not believe it would be cost effective to change.

Blothes of color in center and right side of screen. Very noticable when it's a light background.

May have burned CRT(s), (if you are not talking about convergence.) Burned CRT shows when that CRT (R,G,orB), does not show in an area of the screen where it should. Check bright white color = full R, G, and B CRT brightness. Gray = mid RGB brightness. Yellow = R+G(no B), Blue-green = B+G, no R, etc.

I have a Hitachi model 50V69A and have large yellowish spots on screen. It is most noticeable when watching programs with light background, like hockey games..

I havw a simialr problem mine is a blue stripe toward the center of the screen. The problem is most likely from the blue lens on mine or the yellow on yours. I was able to adjust it out somewhat and I am still tweaking it by using a setting in the technical menu called stripe.

You can access the technical menu by pressing the fowllowing on your remote:

MENU +MENU+ 8 + SELECT

Hope this helps

Yellow spot in center of screen

I have recently developed the same yellow spot problem on my Sony KDF-E50A10  50" LCD television...a large yellow circular hue that takes up the bottom center of the picture and is especially noticeable against a white background.  It has been diagnosed as the optical block (light engine) and without an extended warranty Sony refuses to assist with the repair cost.  Repair was estimated at $1,100 plus tax and travel fees to my home.  So you see, it is not only a Hitachi problem.  You would think they could build something that would last more than two years considering the initial cost of over two grand for the TV !
