Hello my name is Andrew and i have owned this camera that my mom got for my birthday. Anyways i have been taking pictures and making movies on it when i went to places. But something was not right here. So when i took my camera out to record some more videos of stores. It had a black screen and there was a problem with it. I don't know what happened with it. And why the whole lcd screen is black when i try to record. But this is really bad. I need some advice from someone on how to get it fixed because the screen is doing the same thing when i try to turn it on. Also please help me and tell me what to do so that i may have the product fixed. I turn it off for a couple of seconds and i am gentle with using it but nothing happens. This continues a lot and is a disaster for me. If anyone can respond with a solution on how to get it fixed. Thanks!!!

not sure if you have the same problem..but i have the same camera and when i turned it on the screen was all white..it still worked and took pictures but i could only see them on the computer.. i had my friends dad open it up and he found a foam like piece that fell from somewhere and was causing a wire to short out in the LCD screen.

The same thing happened to my 2 week old L18. I called the Nikon parts department and they want $59 for a replacement screen. I'll take the camera apart tonight and see if it is easy to replace.

Sounds like a bad sensor. There's nothing you can do. The camera needs service which can be expensive.
