I have a Maytag Netptune TL washing machine. It recently has started to overflow. My husband took it apart (shudder) but cannot see anything wrong. Any suggestions/advice?
There is a semi clear part deep inside the machine bottom. If you shine a bright flashlight through it towards yourself, you may find you'll be able to see a coin stuck in the drain line. I had to catch all the water I could with a shallow pan when I took it apart then used the wet/dry vac to clean up the rest. It was not easy to get my children's (and probably my) loose change back, nor was it monetarily rewarding but it did save having to call a repair man.
I had a quarter make it all the way past the part that is suppose to catch it and find the impeller blade of the pump. Eventually it ground down the blades and stopped draining. The thing that led it to me was listening and I could hear a small "tink" some times when it started and stopped trying to draing.

Check the pump, pressure switch and related hose for small obsctructions. For reasons unknown they moved the pressure switch location to above the pump.
