Re: Yamaha YPG625 screen shows only vertical lines
I brought the keyboard into a local service technician. He told me that he had to remove about 50 screws but the solution was simple. He unplugged and reconnected the ribbon connector. It apparently was not making good contact.

The overal sound of yamaha YPG 625 and keys operation are exellent by the price. The only problem I eperienced is the instrument operation under high humidity environment. Under this condition many keys sound loud over others, furter more with no expectation from mucisian. This problems is normal for that model because the music store change my previously YPG625 for the same problem
Sometime I solve the problem to located the instrument under sun exposure and cover the keys and display to avoid direc sun exposure.
Another is apply with a hair dryers over the keys. But is very disconform situation, and I dont know if the Yamaha exposed this isntrument under high humidity environment durig the product test. I has a Ymaha very low budged digital piano and Roland controller A33 in the same condition and never eperience problems, only with this model.
That's very annoying! The keys press on to a contact strip running the length of the keyboard. Over time this wears out and notes can either stop being dynamic or stop playing altogether. You can buy the strip off ebay and have a go replacing it yourself - not too expensive. I paid someone 50pounds to supply and fit one to a 61-note keyboard.
Read about initialization on page 61 of your user manual. This is a factory reset. There are two procedures there. If you don't have the manual download it here:
The right half of my screen is blue, the other half has blue lines.
Where can I find a local service technician? I have only a blue screen, and a humming, and none of the buttons work.
Half blue half white screen.
