Will wash fine, goes to rince cycle and will skip right over the spin cycle, and will still be full of water when it stops. If you turn the knob back to the spin cycle the it will spin and drain, also if you catch it in time while it's in the rince cycle and suppose to be going into the spin cycle and open the door and stop i, it will reset and start spinning.

In those cases it doesn't spin - Do you hear if motor is running (an humming noise) ? It sound like a badly worn belt that slid on the tub (the washer succeed to spin- depending on clothes weight in tub) . Open the rear panel, check for belt status and if it really worn, replace it with a genuine belt from the manufacturer. Be awre you should disconnected power cable from the machin before starting work on it. Good luck!!!

some of the early washers had problems with a weak or faulty motor . take front panel loose and look at motor board it may look burnt on some of the resistors or look at the clear fuse at front of board it may be burnt if so use a motor/board conversion kit p#12002039.

SOURCE: won't spin out on normal wash cycle
I think I figured this one out. I think it means that the washer is not able to drain, therefore it won't spin either. Underneath the washer is a series of outlet hoses and within one of them is a filter. When I finally found the filter it was clogged up with lint, fibers from a pillow and coins. You have to dig the filter out and then clean the filter and rehook up the hoses, this was relatively simple even for me. The washer works perfectly now.

If the timer is advancing but won't spin out, it is possible that the spin contacts inside the timer are faulty. A technician will normally isolate and confirm this diagnosis witth a special power cord hookup to the motor. From the way you describe your complaint, I feel that a timer would correct your problem.
Hope this advice is helpful!
