Code to initialize ami rowe jukebox

For full initialization, in service mode, press 3 to enter init. sub menu, type 0 for full initialization. Press popular, then put switch in normal position and initialization will begin. You can still select and play discs while initialization is in progress, providing you select from cd's already finished. The machine will continue initialization after selections are finished playing.

I have an ami Rowe Model Laserstar CD100-F Jukebox that I purchased at a fundraiser. It works great but it has somehow switched from the mode where it plays without inserting $ to only playing when you put...

most all "early models: Rowe CD 100 Laserstar's
Put the slide switch in service position. Go past the errors (if any) by pressing Popular and Reset simultaneously then enter "55" the display should say "free play off" then hold down the reset key and push 9. This will toggle between "off" and "on" Toggle until the display indicates free play "on", then release the reset key and press the popular button. Put the service switch back in to the play position, The display should say "FP" however not all models display it exactly the same. If your computer's battery is good this setting will be retained. If you have to load the factory defaults for any reason OR another problem (dead battery) is causing the factory defaults to be loaded when you power on, this free play setting will be reset to "off" after power is interrupted.

I have a 1979 rowe ami jukebox model R65 when i switch it on it plays one record then just spins the record magazine and wont select another record what parts do i need .

Hello Gary,

If your jukebox is ineed a 1979 model it would be a R-83 Fiesta, Claremont or Disco. These jukeboxes curved top to bottom.
I think your jukebox may be the 1981 R-85 Starwood, Starburst or Starlight.

If your jukebox is from the 1979 era upwards then it will be electronically controlled.
You need to send in your boards to a Rowe Ami specialist in the USA you would contact :-

Rowe jukebox

Hello,

I take it that the jukebox accepts selections when you type them in. Also that you have tried selecting the A side and the B side records.
Is the switch on the CCC (Central Control Computer) set to Record it should not be set to Video.

Rowe Ami jukeboxes are very pone to dry (cold in the USA) joints.
If you can solder then the following items need to checked for dry joints.

Power Supply PCB (printed circuit board)
CCC
Mechanism Control Board

When taking out the plugs pull on the plugs (not the wires)
Look on the soldered side where the connectors pins are fitted for any cracking around the soldered joint ( this is the sign of a dry joint).
Resolder any suspect joints on all of the boards and refit into the jukebox and test.

If this does not cure the problem then the boards will be needed to be sent to a Rowe Ami specalist, I am one of these in the UK.
