Haven't been able to find the right code to program the Direct TV remote to my Element LCD TV. They list 0178 but that doesn't work. I have called Element they said the TV is made by Proview Technology. Anybody have any suggestions on how to have one remote that does everything. It is annoying to turn the TV on and the volume with the Element remote and then have to use the Direct TV remote for everything else.
We cant find our original element remote control. I just tried 10178 on the direct tv remote control and it worked YEAH!!!! We just can't do the screen size edit thing with it :(. Might still have to order a replacement element remote. This works for now. Thanks.

Try these codes i got from my local cable company

10178 worked for my 32" elchw321 but unfortunately you cannot switch between inputs with this code..everything else works though, i have hooked this up with direct tv RC64 remote
I have a Direct TV Remote that says RC23 in the upper left hand corner, can't find a direct link to it on Direct TV's website, but the following link I found online appears to be my remote.....

I found another post online that suggested I use the GoldStar Code, which I looked up and typed 10030. This turns the TV on and Off as well as Volume, don't know what else it will do, but those where basically all I was after. The Goldstart code might work with other Direct TV Universal remotes as well, but I can't test as I don't own one. Good Luck!

Ishousewife solved my problem with the post above. I searched for Proview and got three codes: 10835, 11401, and 11498. The first number worked like a charm on my Element and I am now a happy camper.
I tried 10030 for the LCD Element 40" for Direct TV Remote it works!!!!!!

HAVE YOUR REMOTE NEXT TO THE COMPUTER so you can chose the right one. You will get your code.
Have your Olevia model number handy also. It is in the set up papers if you kept them, or must be on the back of the TV.

I finally got the code by calling Element and asking who made their TV. They said ProView. When the Direct TV guy came out I asked him to search for the code under ProView and he found it. My remote works fine now. If anyone else has this problem with an Element TV, try searching for your code under ProView.
