To delete songs from your device follow the steps below You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music and delete them from there. Either under sync panel in your windowsmedia player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete. To format it..on your device..go under..menu, setting and there should be a format option option there..let me know if that doenst work for you... Hope this helps
P.S.Please rate accordingly... Thank You Computerrep
I was attempting to follow solution #2 when I got to REBOOT SANSA, I switch the HOLD switch to " not HOLD" and unplugged the USB cable. Instantly the unit went into format mode. Everything was fine after that....

To format, you need to plug in the MP3 player to your computer's usb port. When the system detected the new usb device, right click on your windows start button and choose Explore. It will open the Windows Explorer. From the left panel, look for the Drive letter associated with your Napster MP3 player. Right click on that drive and choose format.
