I put new batteries in the camera, but when I turn it on, it comes on and goes off.. if I hold the power button down it just blinks a green light. Oh and the lens won't retract now. UUUgh help

It will come on now and then, but immediately after the screen comes on, and I start to think, oh I'll take a photo and aim, the lens comes out and it goes off. I've tried new batteries, but sometimes It will turn on but no screen, and the green light will stay steady, but then you cannot get it to turn off by pressing power butter, or get the lens to retract. Honestly... anyone have any ideas.

Power on green light on coolpix L18 is blinking. Why? Camera won't work.

This might not work with all cameras, but try it anyway...

Take out your battery and memory card. Put them back in with the battery being first. Try and charge.

You might still have problems charging with the USB lead to the camera. In such a case, you should buy a proper charger that you can put the battery into and charge it. Sometimes charging through the camera doesn't work.

My camera will not come on.

hmmm...if the lens in the front is stuck; take the batteries out, charge em (rechargable batteries), put em back in, press the power button once. the lens should come back in only. leave it for a while. hmm...if the green power does that then u need to charge ur batteries again for a really long time. it means the camera will not use the juiceless batteries.

Wont turn on, new batteries, green light just blinks.

Make sure you are using the correct batteries, and that they are installed correctly. Some cameras require more powerful kinds of batteries and will not work with the cheaper kinds.
A blinking light can mean something is wrong with the power, not enough or something else.
If you have a power adapter or can get one, you may try that, to see if the camera will work without batteries. If it does, then some problem exists in the battery circuit.

Not powering on

The manual indicates that the green light flashing once indicates that the camera is powering down.
http://www.manualnguide.com/dl/6597/ (see page 218 lamp indications)

The first thing you can try is to turn off the camera, remove the battery, remove the memory card. Hold for one minute , pop the battery in(but not the memory card) turn on the camera by pressing the power on buttn and holding it for 15 seconds. This will not only reset the camera but also force the motor to retrace/extend the lens if it is a lens related issue that is causing the camera to shut down.

Power light blinking yellow after sitting a while

Unplug computer, disconnect all usb/monitor/internet, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop out the BIOS battery (looks like a big watch battery and use a small flathead screwdriver to depress the spring lock on one side), plug in computer, hold power button for about 20 seconds (must reset BIOS or something), let up on power button, wait 10 seconds and push power button. The computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stable (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

If this has worked you have proven that it's not the power supply (it turned on).

Go buy a new battery (CR2032 3 volt). Unplug computer, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop in new battery, plug in (you should notice the power button blinking amber again), hold power button until it stops blinking (about 20 sec....again must reset BIOS or something), wait 10 sec., push power button. the computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stabe (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

Now, close case, plug in all usb/monitor/internet/etc. Power up computer. You'll get an internal floppy drive error. Push F2 (maybe F1) to get into the BIOS settings and go to "drives" and turn off the internal floppy. Save and exit. The computer should boot properly now.

This seems to be a big problem with the e510, my theory is that this one small battery is the root of most of these failures (as these computers usually fail after 1-2 years), not the power supply or the motherboard (heck, when you replace the motherboard it comes with a new one of these batteries...a several hundred dollar piece of hardware, with a $5 battery that will actually fix it).

Samsung camera not turning on.

First make sure you batteries are strong.

Then this is not a great solution, but try this. 1) Remove the battery. 2) Hold down the power button and wait 30 seconds...but keep holding the button. 3) After 30 seconds and while holding the button down insert the batteries and then close the compartment. It should come on.

I managed to duplicate the problem by opening the battery compartment with the camera turn on and then if I put them back it would turn on and the lense does not retract.

Good Luck

Battery will not hold a charge.

Casio says:

Red blinking light = defective battery

No flashing light = possible defective charger.

What you can do is send all your stuff into casio and they will test everything for you and see what they could replace for you.
