The ITV app has not yet been set up to work with the Apple TV or second screens. It will only display on the iPad itself until they update it. There is some word that it may well happen in 2017.
Unfortunately, the SD card in most tablets and cell phones doesn't get used efficiently. Most apps will not load onto the SD cards since the developers don't write the programs to run from them. Thus, you are limited to what's in the tablet or phone natively. The only thing the SD card does mostly is to allow you to store more pictures and video files. Some apps will put their data there, but you must direct them to do so in the app management menu. Until manufacturers put more memory in the devices or programmers write the apps for the SD card, that's the way things will remain.
Close GMail first by swiping it off the running apps screen.
Uninstall GMail using the *Uninstall* option in:
Settings > Apps > Downloaded > GMail. Touch GMail and you will get another screen with an option to uninstall it. Touch the uninstall button and it will uninstall.
Then go to the Google App Store and download it again. It sounds like the Mail app got corrupted somehow.
You have to go to app store. Either Amazon Google plus. Depend on format of your tablet. Is it Android, Windows? Either one has an app store. Some apps may even work for both. Not too many however. Hope this helps.
You explained that your files were available in the original program "app". Find the files under ;the original program and right click on them - options presented include move the file selected. Choose this option and when you are prompted for a PLACE to move it to, select the NEW application. If you are going to use the new app for a default reader, set it AS the default in the check box seen as you right click on the application icon itself. Have fun!
