Canon DR-2580C scanner only scanning half the page. What could be the problem?

We are scanning documents. But now the scanner is only displaying half the document (left hand side). What could be the problem? Maybe it needs cleaning?

Select Auto for page size. The scanning software displays scanned image in many options, including 'fit'. Choose 'fit' so that you see complete image.

In Captureperfect, select page size as 'Scanners Maximum'. Select automatic paper size, check the output now. If you select bigger paper size and smaller paper, you will see lack output, outside the paper area.

May be the location where it is writing the data is not 'free'. Do a 'deframent' of the drive where you intend saving the data. Ensure there is enough space on the Hard Disk

I havent used Canon 2580C and hence cant comment on Scan Panel. But you can download SU5000 or Captureperfect 2.0 from Canon website (http://software.canon-europe.com/). This is easy to use and probably offers more features as compared to ScanPanel. Canon 5010C is a higher model as compared to 2589C and Captureperfect may offer better user interface.

SOURCE: canon dr-2580c scanner will not save color

Check your file format. If color you can save in JPG format, which is small in size.

Black at the bottom of scanned pages

There should not be a thick black line at the bottom, but could be from several things, light coming in from somewhere is my first guess, toner is almost out or the ribbon is getting stuck on the inside at that point. You may have to call Cannon and ask them.

Dr-2580C nolonger pulls one page at a time.

How old is the rubber roller, in terms of number of scans? It it had crossed 250,000 better change it. It wears out and no amount of cleaning can help. Ensure that the paper is not sticky. Stapled documnets are held together where the pis was, ensure they are free.

Not scanning full page Canon DR-3080II/CapturePerfect

U should select 'Scanners maximum'  and try this. I have found this does not work midway, after some scans. So close and exit out of captureperfect, re-enter and try. This should work.

Canon Dr-2580C

Try and scan a white paper. If the output is black, then may be the LEDs are not glowing, likely the wire is loose. Actually it is not easily reacheable! Try duplex scanning to check if both scan modules are fine.

Blank or blurry left edge of scanned documents

Try scanning a full page (A3) at different levels of contrast and in the Automode also, in color and Mono. Check the output to see if it is software or hardware issue.

Streaks in image scanned by Canon DR-2580C Path-Through

The staples cannot reach the sensors. They could have scratched the glass above the sensors. Clean the glass with IsoPropyl alcohol. Try scanning a few images to find if the scratch marks are on the same place on all images. Once confirmed that the glass is scratched, you can change the glass. You need a technical expertise to change or call service staff.

Canon DR-2580C Scanner

You must have 'checked' the multipage option in the scanning software. Try scanning first page only and store as say temp1 and later all pages as temp2. If the file size is different you can deduce that the scanner has scanned all pages! To view multipage files, you need a proper software.
