How to get Google back to English ?

Running Windows XP/ SP3 and out of nowhere, everything to do with google is in Chinese or some similar language. IE, or Firefox, doesn't matter. If I use another search engine, and try to go to google page of any kind, it comes up in chinese or whatever. Removed all things google (except for google earth) and tried re-install with no luck. Removed SP3, still didn't help. Re-installed SP3, re-installed google toolbar, still wrong language. Got on google settings somehow and made sure English selected, but still goes to wrong language after. Any ideas? Seen many of same postings on forums, but tried all remedies I could find there, with no luck.

Try downloading CCleaner and clearing the cache that way. Try different browsers as well

Have been using C cleaner for long time now, tried it too but didn't help. Even tried PCmatic (pd. version) as well. Does all the same things on firefox and IE.

1. Open Google Translate: https://translate.google.com/
2. Type "Settings" in the left text box on the Google Translate page.
3. On the right side next to the languages, click the little triangle that points down and choose "Chinese" to see the letters/symbols that match the lettering for the "Settings" on your device. Choose that option on your device.
4. Go back to Google Translate and type "Language" to see the letters/symbols that match the lettering for the "Language" on your device. Choose that option on your device.

that should prevent google from redirecting from the .com website.

the best solution is to reinstall windows XP english version

before doing that you need to backup everything on your computer.

or if you dont want to reinstall try to see on Microsoft if you can get "language pack" for XP

I just bought a second had pc and windows is not in english what can i do ?

in what language it was originally installed??? you could try installing the FREE LANGUAGE PACK from microsoft... if it was originally installed in FRENCH or SPANISH, than you don't have a choice, (live with it or re-install Windows in the desired language)... sorry! On the other hand,If it was originally installed in ENGLISH than the language pack is installed, it's just a matter of reverting to the desired language...

For Scandinavian letters you can download: Scandinavian Keyboard by Trygve Aaberge Also download the Finnish Dictionary by Tero Auvinen (made for the Scandinavian Keyboard). Although they are for the Android, due to the Nexus One running on the Androids OS (operating system) you should have no problems. I hope this helps and good luck!

you must go into control panel, click on REGIONAL AND LANGUAGES, then click on the languages tab. make sure to install the US/English language, and make it default languagethen reboot computer.
