When I plug in an external mouse, it won't click.

If an external mouse does not work correctly, you may need to install device drivers for it. Windows does not support all 'mice' just by plugging them in. Download and install the drivers for the mouse from the manufacturers web site. Do NOT do a factory recovery for a device driver problem.

My mouse has stopped working on my Lenovo tablet

The Touchpad? External mouse? Have you reboot the computer? You may want to post to Tablet & eReaders for a Tablet expert.

Keyboard unlock

Like most modern laptops, IBM/Lenovo laptops feature a built-in touchpad that you can use as a substitute for an external mouse device. If you experience a non-functional or "locked" touchpad, then you have one of two possible problems; either the touchpad's drivers are corrupt or a user has manually locked the touchpad. In either case, you can unlock your touchpad and restore it to functionality quickly.

Open your web browser and paste the following URL in the address bar:

Click the "Download" button and then click "I agree" to save the Lenovo touchpad driver installation file to your computer. Double-click the EXE file that you downloaded. Doing so opens the driver's installation wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to re-install your Lenovo's touchpad drivers. If your locked touchpad is due to a corrupt or outdated device driver, then your touchpad is now unlocked and functional. Activate Touchpad Hold the Windows logo key and press the R key to open a run command box. Type "control mouse" in the box and press Enter. The Mouse Properties control panel window opens. Click the "Device Settings" tab. Click the Lenovo Touchpad in the "Devices" list and click the "Enable" button to activate the Touchpad. Click the "OK" button to save your changes. Your Lenovo's touchpad is unlocked and ready for use. Lenovo support

Left click does not work. Both on touchpad and external mouse.

This indicates a virus in your system, since you can't use the mouse, I would do a full recovery to factory setting if possible.

Lenovo touch pad not working properly

Have you tried pressing the Fn + F8 keys? This combination is used to disable and enable the mouse pad.

Lenovo Y410 Touchpad has stopped working

These devices are generally quite reliable so I would be looking for the possibililty of a damaged software driver.
If the touchpad is completely dead, use the tab and arrow keys to access the Control Panel. Open the Mouse folder, go to the Hardware tab, locate the touchpad entry (it is likely shown as a mouse), highlight it and delete the entry.
Exit the open windows, reboot your computer.
If the touch pad is functional at all, Windows should show a dialog box stating 'Found new hardware' and it may also say that it is installing the software for it. It may however, ask you to insert a disk with the software on it and that would be on any recovery disk that came with your notebook. If it does not see the touchpad because it is defective, then it is a failure of the touchpad.
Good luck-

Dell Inspiron 6000 Alps Touchpad not working

Try unistalling the touchpad driver, and reboot. The machine will find the touchpad and reinstall the driver automatically. These have a tenancy to glitch when using an external mouse, and this should clear it up. Let me know.
