A few weeks ago, the light next to the AC input in my HP g60-235dx would blink, and when I slightly move the charger cable the light will turn on and off depending on the cable position, I thought it was the power jack that was bad, so I changed it. My laptop won't start when I plug it with the charger only, if I use the battery (only) it would turn on fine. Is the charger broken?
The power pack is bad.
it must run ok with battery out
and is always test 1.
you fail test 1.
dead power pack.
its like $15 if you shop around
get 19vdc HP compat, power pack 65watts or more.
they to know the wires inside the pack connectors
at 4 ends can fail. and often, this old.
inside where you cant see.
binding stranded wire, will not break it, but will after 1000s of bends
all metals do that, bent.
even a paper clip does bent , try it and learn what happens.

"......no beeps and it is a 3rd party charger for this model of laptop."
That 3rd party adapter could be the problem. Also, try to take out the battery and power it up from AC adapter only.
Ideally, try to find original AC adapter just for testing.
